Well
It's been about six years now, and I have watched this game grow from a wonderful little seed into a revolutionary pvp powerhouse. As I progressed through time, I have played many games with the intentions of having fun. Games series such as Splinter Cell and Assassin's Creed give you the open-world, stealthy adventure while games like Gears of War and Halo give you some of the most intense FPS action. MMOs have been the most immersive player-versus player experience; while all of the above games remain quite simple: I kill you or you kill me. League of Legends was once the most in-depth MOBA I have personally witnessed, and still remains popular today, however, it is insanely flawed in more ways that I will help you realize tonight.
Riot is nonchalant, meaning they have a very self-centered, one-track-minded agenda without much regard to what players actually want. (The everlasting war against snowballing- wait here's a champ that snowballs harder than any other. Buy it. The League of Legends community is one of the absolute worst in all of gaming history. (Take me for instance[a relatively nice guy with a sarcastic sense of humor], or any handful of the handfuls of people you've played against in the past few games) Many additions to the game are either completely unnecessary or barely interesting. (Why is it that the development&release of skins is priority over the development of a better ranked system?) The once-infamous servers are now less infamous but still terribly maintained. (DC for no apparent reason, log on 1-4 minutes later, game's already over) You are penalized for things that are almost always out of player control. (Disconnects, server crashes, various glitches) You are penalized for things that will always be fundamental parts of competitive sports. (In-game banter, opting out of play, joking, etc.) Games last way too long for minimal reward, if any whatsoever.
I could go on, but I genuinely kept my focus on what remains factual as opposed to solely sharing biased ideas.
The worst part of all of this is that people will still consume this game, and nothing will ever change. After all of these years, I still see the same old game run by the same young company.
R.I.P. A Once-Fun MOBA
