Preparing for Ranked

Hello I got Gold V in placements luckily at the end of last season, but hadnt played largely at the start of this season and started picking it back up around mid season patch. Last season I got decent with 1 champ in every role before going into ranked and it worked out well for me, as more often then not there was always at least 1 person on the enemy team (and my team) that could only play 1 role, by being able to fill in and the enemy team not always being able to do so it inflated my wins and helped me get those placements into Gold and get the victorious skin.

This season however with the new que system, I cant count on the game giving people bad roles (both on my team and the enemies team) so I actually have to be able to be flexible/ good within my own 2 roles. So far I have gotten comfortable with 2 junglers (working on a couple more) and semi comfi on 3 ADC's my primary role is jungle and even when I do bad I seem to win a majority of my normal games as a jungler against what seems to be mostly silver high bronze and sometimes low gold (when not unranked players), my question is should I just give ranked a shot and try to get through placements when I am feeling at the top of my game, or should I keep practicing till I have a tank and an AP jungler well under my belt and get a rune page set up for tanking before I try to go into ranked so that I dont accidently tank my MMR since I know the amount of LP you gain and lose is mostly based on MMR as well as the initial placement is kind of based on MMR. Basically want to know others thoughts on my current prep work as well as other things I can do to prepare for Ranked with out it taking to long just in case I do have to try to climb to get those glorious victory skins.

P.S Please dont bring dynamic que into this, most of the statistics state that it has little to no affect on games under plat, as my only hope is to get to gold... (maybe higher if I dont feel at risk of losing the skin) it should have little to no affect on my ability to do so if I prepare properly.

Thank you all for any of your assistance on getting better at this game.

TBH if you have experience from previous seasons, you're probably already ahead of most fresh-to-ranked players. As long as you're strong on at least a couple champs in a couple roles, then you should be fine.

Bonus points if you have AD/AP/Tank options to adapt to team comp needs (depending on the role[s] you play), but if your only aspiration is gold, then simply being really good at one or two champs outweighs being only ok at a variety of champs.
