Stuck in Bronze

Why am I stuck in Bronze. Yeah sounds like a typical rant but I am serious. I'm a decent adc main who knows the fundamentals such as staying behind tanks, last hitting and etc.. I just feel like I am very unlucky with who I get on my team. I either get a troll who afks after two deaths, a guy who has flat out has no league knowledge, or someone who doesn't even connect to the game. I dont understand even with a good support I cant seem to carry the game. For example I played a match where I got two doubles bot lane and was pretty fed then entire game, but yet i couldn't manage to carry. Is it the adc position in bronze or is it just flat out luck?

Carrying as an ADC can be tough in solo queue, you are a huge source of damage but very squishy, the enemy team will focus you and without a frontline or protection you may just die every team fight. Carrying as a support might actually be easier if you focus on helping your ADC out every team fight to make sure his DPS can go on.

Now, if you are set on carrying as an ADC i think you should play the role for what it's meant to do, pushing towers. The only reason an ADC is played in every ranked game and LCS game is because you need one to take down turrets faster. You can give your team a huge advantage by following these steps:

Step 1. Get ahead in lane, either by CS or kills. Step 2. Take down the turret and push up the lane. Step 3. Rotate mid and top and take down those turrets. Step 4. Push up side lanes and group mid to push as 5.

This is what an ADC excels at, the first 3 steps can be fairly easy to complete, the hard part might be grouping with your team. Taking down the first 3 turrets gives your team a huge advantage and team fighting at this point should be in your favor because of the global tower gold. A lot of times, games are lost simply because one lane lost super duper hard, if you take down the turret in that lane and start to group instead, your team mate who previously fed won't just die over and over until it's too late. My point is, every role has something that helps the team, could be a kit with CC, roaming, ganking, warding, buffs etc, the ADC has pushing power, use it to help the team out, just like a mid laner should roam, just like a top laner who tps, or splitpushes, just like a jungler who's ganking.

Do all this, or just play Draven and snowball like crazy and become totally unstoppable.

You average 80-100 cs at 20 minutes, no wonder you're in bronze, you play like a bronze, you're supposed to aim for at least 70 at 10 minutes, instead of blaming team mates why not try to improve yourself, my god, and don't ever say that you're "a decent adc main" no one in bronze is decent at the game, because match a few bronzies with a silver 3 + and you will get destroyed.

If you're trying to carry, it's very VERY important to not die. As long as you are on the map, your enemies can't do much. If they try to go for a tower, you can quickly clear the wave to prevent it. If they try for baron or dragon they risk being caught out and aced because you've got so much damage. So use your team as meatshields and don't risk dying if all you're getting for it is one or even two kills. As soon as you die, they can do whatever they want on the map.

So yeah, not dying so often is probably what would get you out of bronze. This also means it's good to upgrade your warding trinket so you're still able to push up the map for farm/objectives without risking to be flanked. Remember, they're all trying to kill you so just ward their most likely approach path and if they come for you, just walk away.

I'm actually considering a challenge where I climb from bronze 5 to silver 5 without using my keyboard if that makes you feel better.

This is ironic, but I actually find carrying as an ADC very awkward in Solo Q.

Even if I get fed early on, if my support and I are not on the same page I have a lot of issues getting shit done, whereas top or mid lane I can roam like a badass, counter jungle, and do generally manly shit solo.

For the afkers/no-connectors, those are luck. As for ADC, I feel it is hard to carry as an ADC unless you outskill your opponents by a high enough margin. With a lot of the easy, safe late game ADC's gutted (RIP Tristana Lucian ) I feel it isn't as easy to win as ADC anymore. To be fair I haven't been playing as much as I did when Trist/Lucian were late game ADC's, so don't take my word as 100% true. Anyways, a problem I always run into when I play ADC is the roles inherent weakness. You usually don't have much power until your first completed item and even IF you do get it, if enough people run at you, you will most likely die. In a lot of games I do okay in lane, but if I get ahead, the ganks start coming. And not just the jungler, but mid and top as well, sometimes all at once :(.

You can try changing roles, but I personally feel you will always run into "issues" no matter what role you play, so I just say stick it out with the role you like. I changed to ADC because whenever I played support/jungler, I could stall out the game long enough to reach late game, but then my ADC would run from fights at full HP when we got into a teamfight, so I decided to be an ADC main. As a support I was dissatisfied with my ADC's poor performance. Also being in a role that lacks a good gold inflow, it makes it hard to carry through damage and is reliant on your teammates following up on you.

If you are dissatisfied with ADC, then by all means switch if you think it will help you improve your win rate, but becoming specialized in something should help you go up quicker imo. Overall you will know how your champions interact with theirs in more scenarios, so you should be able to punish things you may not have recognized if you invested more timeo into something else. I also recommend playing Graves and Kalista. They are both bully ADC's that can really dominate their opponents if you know what you are doing and they have good mobility so they are relatively safe.
