Hey man, adding additional damage to monsters or minions is something that we generally try to avoid if we can. That's not to say that we don't use it ever, but it's usually when we don't have another option.
You stated (not to me if anyone is wondering) that you exhausted all options and therefore you had to add damage to jungle monsters for Fiddlesticks while his mid was destroyed. I won't repeat myself on the mid, support, jungle issue. Here is the thing. You guys released a champion called Kai'sa. You also have champions called Graves, Victor, and etc. I didn't think about this before because I wasn't even thinking about how to fix fiddlesticks. (Not really my job) However, I started thinking about it after you stated you guys exhausted options. Don't get me wrong. I got stuck for a while trying to figure out how you guys could have tackled this problem.
What could you do? Well let's think about what champions can give you an idea: Victor, Kaisa, Gangplank, etc. You can upgrade their abilities. Instead of doing the three abilities how about an upgrade with multiple choices for E. Now how this can be done?
Option One: Summoner Spell based:
- If you have smite, it autolocks the jungle upgrade (increased damage to jungle monsters).
- If you have anything but smite, autolock into damage towards minions, increased damage to champions, etc. I don't know what mid fiddlesticks needs, but he isn't in a good spot in reality. I wouldn't suggest doing both increased damage to champs and minions at the same time though, but that is just me.
Option Two: Multiple upgrade selection based. Three upgrades for E.
- Support based
- Jungle based
- Mid based
There are other options, but those are too complicated for me to explain and take too much time to delve into.
