Calling players of Immobile Mages - Help Riot to Help you to Help them

We know that Immobile Mages are going to be reworked so that each is unique. An iportant question to ask is therefore "What is it that you like about the mage you play?". I will start us off with some simple initial thoughts about each one.

Remember to keep each point clear and concise. Make it easy for Riot to see what your champion needs to be. Thematically and strategically. Which abilities need to remain untouched? Why do you play your champion, and how can Riot keep that experience similar after a rework.

I know there are a lot, so I don't really expect people to read this. I am hoping it can be used as a platform to start discussions among X-champion mains.

After writing less than half of this I realise how many changes may have to be made. Question to Riot if you weren't put off by the giant post; would you consider separating immobile mages into subsets? Say "Short range burst mage" or "Siege and poke".

Anivia Could be kept much the same. Her playstyle is unique and her wall gives you a reason to pick her over any other mage against certain comps.

Annie Difficult. Flash Tibbers defines her at the moment, but I am not sure how we could make her anything other than a generic ulti bot.

Brand Needs to keep his Combo playstyle. Again, I am not sure what strategic niche he could fill.

Cassiopeia Late game teamfight DPS? It could be glorious, but will need tweaking. Many Cass players also dislike her passive. If Riot really want to save her power for later on, can we make it more noticeable than "extra power". Let the players unlock power rather than hold them back until end game.

Fiddlesticks He has a "surprise" theme going for him. How much do people like the bouncing bird? I could see this being replaced with something else surprising to really double down on his party theme. Obviously he needs to keep the drain. Really though he is unique enough already. New changes probably aren't necessary beyond general balancing. It is possible he doesn't belong here, but given that his mobility is confined to a channelled high CD ultimate I think it is fair.

Galio From a thematic point of view I could see him becoming an AP bruiser for use against magic heavy teams. He could head down a tanky route with more utility or a bruiser route with a bit more damage.

Heimerdinger From a strategic perspective there are already reasons to choose him over somebody else.

Karthus From a thematic standpoint I hope that we can all agree that he is well defined and clear. Strategically, though, why pick Karthus? I am stumped. You could pick him for counter roams, but then TwistedFate Is going to be the better choice. We need to think here. I really don't want to put either of these champions into this class given that they can affect the entire map. Hmm.

Kennen From a thematic standpoint he is a flipping Ninja. His speedboost may be big enough to push him out of this category. Late game he becomes a stun bot. I don't know how to make him strategically unique.

KogMaw Long ranged barrage. He seems fine at the moment. With him you sacrifice a lot of close ranged damage and burst for his almost unmatched poke. Much like AD Kog, keep the enemy off him and you will win.

Lux Xerath Ziggs Lux, Xerath and Ziggs have very similar kits. The main issue will be separatting them - they are already different enough from the rest of the roster. I don't know. Perhaps we could push Lux more towards the utility end, but I don't know.

Malzahar Space Aids must stay. His AD build is a different playstyle, not just different items, so it is worth keeping. He also has the cool "If I catch you alone, you get everything I got", which is possibly different enough already.

Morgana No idea. Null, Zip, Nada. For the most part her playstyle is not unique. Perhaps keeping her main role as support for the long range bindings would be easier, although I doubt some Morgana players will like that.

Orianna Has the ball, which is enough. She is an incredibly well designed champion. Why would you pick her over other champions? She offers more utility at the cost of some damage and the ultimate can do wombo things that little else can.

Rumble Possibly doesn't belong on this list. The Equaliser is different enough.

Ryze Super machine gun guy. Difficult to get right. It is probably worthwhile just leaving him as is.

Swain Got to have the heals. You feel like a boss walking into the enemy team as a giant Raven. I would like a gameplay update to see a more interactive Q or E to promote counterplay. From a clarity perspective I would like a visual rework. From a gameplay perspective he feels unique, and from a strategic perspective he is. Nobody really does "sustain mage" like Swain. Even Vlad doesn't feel the same.

Syndra Here is where a decision needs to be made, Syndra mains. Do you want real burst or do you want the QE combo. Both makes her unfair to play against. From a strategic perspective, I don't know what makes her different from other hit 6 and burst champions. She has more pick potential in the mid to late game, but both of those things are arguably done better by assassins.

Veigar Already sort of different from the rest of the crew.

Velkoz Firstly, we need to play up the geometry. I love his Q - it offers him unique angles on skillshots, but this isn't really evident in the rest of his kit. Strategically he is a kiter, isn't he. He backs off until his opponent is low enough before turning around. If you jump on him you can shut him down easily, but if you don't he will melt you. I would like to see more geometry, but wouldn't get upset if it didn't happen.

Viktor The last rework made him much more powerful but didn't really make him different. I am concerned that his burst combined with his waveclear may make him crowd out otherrpicks when he gets a bit strong, but I don't know.

Vladimir His pool probably puts him on a different list. I dunno about Vlad. He seems problematic.

Zilean I added Zil just incase people got upset with me. I don't really consider him to be the same type of champion. If anyone has any input, please pipe up.

Zyra Zyra has zone control with her plants and disengage with her ultimate and E, but I don't know what could be done to make her strategically different from, say, Heimerdinger or Orianna. Anybody got any ideas?

If you got to the end, I salute you. Boring huh? If you want to share your thoughts about your main, fee free. If you want to slag me off, do that instead. I won't cry. Promise.

Ok KogMaw can stay off this list cuz he just got reworked.

Also I'm not sure about calling Kennen Immobile but sure rework him.

I don't think Fiddlesticks needs to be here either and I hate the idea of "surprise" being his theme... that is a skin of his, not his entire theme. Fiddle's theme is harbinger of doom and if they rework him they need to really stick to that and solidify that theme but get rid of his bouncing bird because... well... rng sucks. I see his theme being more of this horseman of the apocalypse-type champion. Fidd has the most status ailment type abilities right now with his passive and I want to see him solidified as this status-inducing champion who drains the life from his victims.

Orianna needs almost nothing since she is already so balanced and unique.

Syndra they want to play up her passive which I'm fine with.

Viktor Needs his initial ult damage reduced to make him less bursty and put more emphasis of keeping it on his enemies over time.

Lux Utility emphasis. Ziggs Siege emphasis. Xerath Sniping emphasis? Velkoz Combo emphasis?

And Annie needs less emphasis on flash > tibbers because that is an instant-stun and has almost no counterplay. She should be more of a pet-focused mage that fights along with tibbers instead of press r to delete/initiate.

If you think Syndra's Q-E is unfair gameplay while combined with burst, Veigar says hi with nearly same range, extremely strong zone control, can stun even while you missed.

As for Lux Ziggs Xerath

Lux: Ultra long range utility is her niche. Her passive is the only part of her kit that seems like it needs any sort of changing, and if they eliminated the bonus damage from it and turned it into some sort of vision control (perhaps a 30 second "ward" dropped whenever a spell hits an enemy, max one per cast + a CD?), she could be put into a good spot without being so abusive like she tends to be now.

Ziggs: Siege Mage. With the changes to passive, ziggs could easily be turned into the siege mage. Suggestions would be allowing his ult to damage towers, but lowering the damage of q to compensate. Another fun idea would be if ziggs Satchel Charge had 2x knockback while in an enemy turret. This could make it really easy for ziggs to either escape, or buy just a couple more seconds to siege.

Xerath: The Sniper Mage. Xerath is also long range, but unlike Lux, he is all damage. Xeraths passive could be changed from the current sustain it is now, to maybe a three hit passive? (Every 3 spells, Xeraths next ability deals +10/20/30% Dmg). Another idea to solidify him as a long range sniper mage would be to let him use ult whenever with a minimal cooldown, but put it on a ammo system, gaining 1/2/3 stacks from assists, and 2/3/4 stacks from kills. To compensate for these so that he wouldn't be OP, but also be better thematically, they could take away some damage from his ult.

I am a Swain main and I have read many different takes on how to improve his kit to make it less simplistic. I actually wrote a lengthy article on it a few months ago: http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/gameplay-balance/OpZyLhRG-modernizing-swain in case you wanted to take a read. Ultimately there is a consensus that he needs his passive, q, and e touched up on the most, but regardless of what happens I would like him to be a team fight champion that has the single target abilities for him to have that contradicting aspect to his kit. If it wasn't for him needing to focus down a single player in a fight then he would just be a monster to everyone in that fight. Healing is always going to be a tricky mechanic to balance, but I believe it could be done with some intuitive thinking.

I had a wicked cool idea for kennen a while ago but noone payed attention to it. Basically I had that idea that kennen makes static zones on the ground that deal aoe damage as a result from his auto attacks. He threw his lighting shuriken. He had a lightning dash and made a lightning zone that slowed and did damage. He lost his stun but it gave him range and a different cool concept
