Rrrrroast Me? I wanna learn!

My friends are all Plats and Diamond and Golds, and I really wish I could play competitively with them and be on the team, because they're literally missing a support main--which I am! But we only get Normals, and it can end up not being fun for them if we're matched against a Bronze team, and if it's Gold or Plat, I get demolished and don't have any fun.

I've been watching a lot of videos, trying to learn matchups, and just trying to form better habits in lane--but when I watch my Replays I'm just... not even sure if I made the right choice? I ask my friends all the time, but I think they're just being nice when they say "you did good, you did fine".

I know I'm not a total loss, I can at least consistently provide good cover and support for my team most games(live savers, set ups for 2x/3x/even pentas), make accurate calls without needing wards to know where my enemy is, know when to take an obj safely, but the games usually result in losses anyway--so there's gotta be something more I can do as a support.

Whether it's looking at my replays or playing a game with me, looking at my builds, please let me know. I'm not expecting to become Plat from a few pointers, but I at least want to stand a chance and start climbing upwards. I thought I did well in my placements, I won 7/10, but I got put in B5, so there's gotta be something catastrophic I missed.

Find something you enjoy playing. League is a game. If it stops being fun, it stops being a game and then there's no point in continuing at all. If your only motivation is to be good and you disregard having fun then you may as well uninstall the game and avoid it altogether.

The biggest mistake that low elo supports make is doing too much. There are statistics on the amount of spells cast by supports per tier and bronze casts way more spells than diamond. One of the loading screen tips actually says "The threat of Blitzcrank's hook is often more effective than the hook itself." I've spectated some low elo friends play support and I always see the same thing. Every single one of them spams themselves dry of mana then they can't do anything when they actually need it like when they get ganked. You should only ever go in as a support if you have your own jungler coming in for a gank or the enemy is way out of position and you know where the enemy jungler is. I see you like playing Rakan. Don't dive in trying to get a bit of damage off on your enemy unless they are inside of your minions. Diving in and getting a good knockup is pointless if you are just going to get CC'd inside of the enemy minions and lose a quarter of your hp from minion aggro.

A champion like rakan is going to have the steepest learning curve, I wouldn't start with him. The reason for this is he's a playmaker support, and you can literally solo lose a game off baiting bad fights. I would play supports that are more reactive than proactive until you've learned damages and abilities. Also get over ranked anxiety, you play a ton of norms which is fine if ur playing for fun, but norms are troll and develop bad habits. Just start grinding out ranked games and see what happens, its not like u can go any lower.
