Taric W QOL change

Most people probably don't know this or even care, but there is one thing about his W that gets really annoying as a Taric main. Taric auto targets the nearest ally with his shield when his linked ally isn't within range. This works the same way as Nunu and Morde's W. There is a glitch on Taric's though. If the ally he is linked to dies and their body is in range, Taric will not switch targets with his W. I know this so it isn't always a big deal but sometimes in the heat of battle I will forget or not see my linked ally die meaning that I waste the shield and not link to a different ally.

I would like either the intended function of this to be fixed or auto target to be removed altogether to avoid confusion.
