Why won't riot nerf Yasuo?

So I've been playing league for a while now, like at least 4 years. I don't play much ranked because i prefer to play a norms game and relax a bit, but recently I've noticed how strong Yasuo is and I don't see any change coming to him any time soon. Why is that? I have a few things with him that I need to discuss.

  1. Why does he still have his double crit passive? Infinity Edge gives the same bonus, so I don't see the need for Yasuo to have that passive anymore. Also, because of this, with just 2 items (normally Phantom Dancer and Infinity Edge) he has 100% crit strike and extra true damage with his crit. And one of the items doesn't even give crit strike.

  2. I think his tornado hitbox is a little weird. It's too hard to read for some of the newer people to the game, and I think that's unfair. I think it needs a way to be easier seen so that you can tell if you are in it or out, especially at the end of the tornado when it's already visually disappeared, but the knockup effect still connects.

  3. His windwall is way too strong. His wall makes it almost impossible for ranged champs to lane against him. Especially for the mages. There are very few attacks that are able to go through it (Kayle ranged attacks, and Lux Ultimate for example). As this season progressed we saw more and more Yasuo adc or bot lane, and that's unfairly punishing the ADC that are laning against him.

  4. Yasuo dashes make him WAY too mobile. How can people lane against him if they can't hit him. It's on an extremely low cooldown, and resets too quickly on the targets that he's already dashed past.

  5. His ult. Period. It needs to be clearly defined what a knockup is for his ult. Hecarim dash is a knockBACK and he can ult off of it. Sometimes the animation for being knocked up by his tornado will finish and he will still be able to ult when people are clearly on the ground. Also, why does it reset his shield passive. That passive is based off of him moving and his ult leaves him stationary while in the air, so where is the logic in his shield reset? I think it should be obvious that his ultimate needs some major fixes with hitbox and shield reset.

I'm not going to lie. I'm a little biased, especially because I main support, but watching other champions play in this meta against Yasuo is a little frustrating. We can't see mages shine mid lane because of this champion being such a high risk. Everything that mages try to throw at him, he just blocks. Not only that, but his crit is too easily obtained. He can get it and then build tank and be fine because by level 12-ish he is pretty much unstoppable if fed. I see other champions getting fed, but yasuo is remarkably the easiest one that gets fed almost every game that he's in.

It's time for some changes to this champion, and I don't see why there aren't any direct nerfs to him and honestly, I think it's because riot is really greedy. I come across mastery 7 Yasuo almost every 3 games and I think one reason riot won't nerf him is because of his high income for their company. Every yasuo main is getting the new skins whenever they come out, and most likely they have the entire bundle as well, which costs more money. He's too strong and it's time for a fix so this Yasuo mastery 7 mains in lower elo will not dominate the game so much.

Cause he's not broken of course! If he was broken, and as overpowered as people have been saying he is for how long they have been saying it, Then they would have changed him and nerfed him or reworked him! Hes got strengths, and hes got weaknesses like every other champion. If you have issues facing him, play him and find out what he struggles with, and if that doesnt shine some new light on your thoughts on him, Just ban him out if hes so overbearing! It can be as easy as that, but before perma banning, i would urge you to play him straight for a few days, as much as you can, and see what it's like.

Doing so results may vary, which depend on personal skill level Vs opponent, overall skill level in the game you are playing him in, Cause he isnt op just because you crushed an iron 4 player who is new to the game, thats not how that works. Play him alot also will help you Vs him for certain.

Because he’s not broken or abusable in pro play or casual play.

Now to wait for the downvotes.

What do you mean "blocks every ranged aa/ability" his w is on such a long cd and he gets it level 3, leblanc is a mage and she counters Yasuo hard. Zed's an assassin and zed can usually solo Yasuo since he does his full combo before Yasuo can get a knock up and ult. He is a melee so junglers can gank easier, in team fights he has to be in melee range, so it's easy to shred his hp down. If a Yasuo is behind, there is absolutely NOTHING he can do except stay under tower and hope they don't tower dive him because he can't cc. People build sterachs guage after pd and not ie, and most games he won't even get ie since games end pretty fast, and all his items are Soo expensive.

hes a champ made by certainlyt so yasuo obviously gets special treatment only reason you see a lot of yasuo int is because these players cant handle how broken this champ is and go in 24/7 , kind of like lee syndrome

They nerfed Taliyah because Riot only likes certain champs being picked in the LCS and she's not one of them.

actually Yasuo is a goldmine for rito. they wont and will never nerf him because his skins is sold so much way more for what you think.

Kadexe12/29/2018, 4:53:38 PM3 votes

Why would Riot nerf a balanced champion? I mean sure he's banned a lot, but he's not OP.

Yas isn't broken anymore, annoying like Teemo, but not actually broken. I played against him when he was broken, and before the ban system came in. I remember when he could take over the entire game off one or two kills. He did get nerfed, and (like Teemo) is still catching flak even though he's not stupid op anymore. As someone else suggested, get him, play him. That's the easiest way to find the gaps in his armor and take him down. Get a friend to 1v1 with to find the champion that can exploit his weaknesses. His windwall blocks projectiles, hit him with a melee that can hurt his mobility and not get blown up in the process. (Besides, it's hilarious watching a Yas try to windwall a champion like Kled charging him!)

The only real issue I have with Yasuo is that Riot didn't do any checks on Conq before they added it to the game. Before, Yas was pretty strong with a zeal, and other Keystones, but with Conqueror, he starts doing 1/5 of your health with a single Q, with only that same component. Conqueror broke the fuck out of Yas.

That said, I just play Xerath or Anivia when he's against me so I can ignore him in lane

Although I do feel Yasuo does have a bit too much going for him in general (Windwall and double crit passive. as others have noted), most of the frustration I feel playing against him comes down to his E. Specifically, the low cooldown, and the zoning power. It'd be much more healthy if it had the same cooldown level as most of the other dashes in the game, such as Xin Zhao, Jax, Renekton, assassins, etc. Or, if they really want to keep it at a low cooldown, make it like Vayne's for that matter. That's a dash on a < 5 second cooldown. Playing against Yasuo really feels like I have a mosquito buzzing in my ear because of the perma dashing. You could argue that Kalista has the same thing but she feels so much less frustrating than Yasuo because of her lower damage and increased squishyness.

Please riot, either the double crit or the perma dash, but not both.

  1. His mobility is Highly situational. He has high mobility only in the presence of minions. In a teamfight if there are minions are then he can be mobile but not all fights are fought in the presense of minions. Especially mid to late game when fights are fought near dragon or baron. Jungle fights are yasuo weak spots unless ur team has a knock up. He is literally the most easiest champion to kite in the jungle because his e does not have such a high range and a moderalty long cd before he can dash on the same person again 2 his w does stop skillshots but it has a very long cd. A good yasuo wont waste his wall unless he is going to hard engage or run away cause without it he is a sitting duck for range champion in the jungle. In lane the you need to play passive under tower and wait for him to waste his w after that for about 20 secs he will be vunerable because u can poke hom from a distance.
  2. He tries to gap close you with minions? Then dont try and fight him near the wave either clear the wave as quick as possible so your minions are under his tower or let the enemy waves be pushed right under your tower. In the first case he wont be able to dash to u because your minions are too far from you while in the second case he will be highly prone to get ganked by your jungler. Also he is one of the easiest champions to gank becaude of his lack of escapes and high pushing power 4.his ult is somewhat weak compared to other ults but has its strength mainly in a RIGHT team comp. A good team comp can make yasuo ult strong. In teamfights especially if there are no knock up champs he has a hard time using it unless there is a wave or a jungle creep near by. By the time yasuo can get 2 stacks of q in a fight he would most likely die due to his squishy nature. UNLESS he is super fed and has items ..... like pretty much any crit or dps or assassin champion. His ult forces him to be at the middle of a teamfight so a good yasuo player must know when to ult and who to knock up. He needs to set up and prepare before a fight can take place to maximise his ult... UNLESS ur team has a knock up champion even then it needs to be coordinated well. In lower elo this can be hard and fustrating to counter but with a mercurial scimitar or banshee or zhonya you could stop this.
  3. A knock up champion in a yasuo team makes him OP!!!.well yes and no... the team has to have a certain level of coordination to pull off a good combo and kill the important targets but this can be said for a large number of other champions For instance malphite and orianna Malphite and j4 Orianna and leesin J4 and anivia Katarina and amumu Hecarim and orianna Ornn and leesin Amumu and wukong Sejuani and orianna J4 and katarina....... These champions can combo together and do not depend on each other for there ults but yasuo depends on a knock up to maximise his ult.

cuz in the end he really isn't all that bad.

I hate the champ but i've had to put him as my 3rd most hated champ by now. When you think about it he's just a weeb with a sword, the fuck is he gonna do. Once you pick something that can deal with him he's not that hard to beat. Hell i've beaten him in lane as yi.

should lose one of his 50 passives tho. preferably the shield, or atleast make him actually do something for it.

He's not as broken as people think and that's why he doesnt get nerfed. You can counter pick yas pretty easy with essentially any point and click cc or people with mobility as well to avoid his oppressive lane presence. For example you pick panth into yas and panth takes yas to town Haha me as an azir main could win into yas (until they made it so he could dash through azir wall) and even then I can still fair up to him. Having zed as a secondary main ive found that with zed into yasuo it just comes down to a skill matchup the better player wins that one Haha, but yasuo is not utterly broken sure his crit spike can feel a little rough but just keep a distance away from your minions and you're good. You just gotta know how to deal with him, sure hes annoying but riot has a pretty balanced game here and where theres a champ that feels overwhelming theres usually a counter matchup to deem that champ completely and utterly useless lol

    1. Holy shoot... Yas ain't broken u just don't know his weaknesses and counter picks. Agreed to who ever said playing him will help with laning against one. Like stop complaining about yasuo when there's more broken champs that should be fixed or nerfed. If u remove his double crit passive. No one would play it lol, and the champ will just die off. Also, the mobility agreed it can be a bit of annoying and op but, it makes the champ who it is so deal with it

Stopped reading at "why does yasuo still have his passive, infinity edge literally does the same exact thing" that's the point genius, he used to get 100% crit twig IE and PD or SS and he still does, by design. This is why riot doesn't balance the game around bronze
