How does the letter grade system work?

I played a simple 3v3 match, completely destroyed the other team. As you can see by the Screenshot above, my stats were great. Why did both of my teammates get an S and I did not? I just want to know the different factors that lead up to someone getting a letter grade.

There's no way one death can bring that down, right?

They compare you to other kindred players , and then they notice that your farm as a kindred was too low for an s , but for braum and rakkan that are both supports , the cs has close to no value for their rating , which is why they got an s but you didn't

I've never played twisted treeline so I don't know what a normal cs is, but all my s's and s+'s ive gone 12/2/7 with something like 210 cs

My S's always came from being 7/1 with 140 CS. I have gotten a A+ with 12/1 and 135 CS.

cs most likely what denied you there.

it is based on the top 2% of all players relative to your rank/elo in that matchmaking mode and how you perform compared to them. so if the top 2% average lets say 150 cs and you get 135 thats points against you for getting an S. etc. Theres a lot that goes into it, but cs, kills, death, all matter.

CS, KDA, Kill Participation, Warding*, helping with objectives, all compared to how others do on the same champion in the same role.

*Not applicable in a 3v3

Like everyone is saying, your CS was bad. 5 CS a minute is super low. If you play any kind of laner and have under 6.5 cs a minute, don't expect to get an S. at 6 you MAY be able to cheese an S-, and at 7+ you usually meet the CS to get it as long as you were active elsewhere.
