The matchmaker changes are a terrible idea

Has Riot not even heard the term pub-stomping before? Pick any game with a "group" aspect from World of Tanks, to Dota, to WoW, and it's not hard to figure out that shoving premades down the throats of SoloQ-ers never ends well. It's too much of an advantage. It's the worst kind of imbalance. No matter how well I play, I cannot compete with the strategic advantage of five guys working together with coms

Riot's response to this is "get friends." Brilliant, my choices are to either find a group of people I don't care about in an effort to stay viable, or lose.

But Arithian, my 95% chance! I'm glad someone has faith in Riot's capability, because I certainly don't. No offense guys, but it's been made abundantly clear that Riot dances to their own drum in everything they do. The balance choices are inconsistent at best, it can take months for them to acknowledge or fix bugs, and they make UI changes despite abundant negative feedback. All of this influences my hesitation to believe that the matchmaking system will be capable of handling the job. Already, it's not uncommon to see matches of full 5 man premades against groups of two or even a team of solo-ers in normals.

Riot should instead focus on incentivizing players to use the system they all ready have. Ranked premade exists for a reason. SoloQ exists for a reason. Give more bonuses out to group players if you have to. Let's remember that there are thousands and thousands of players out their who never want to see more than a duo, and would probably be even happier with a true SOLOq.

Do not alienate a sizable group of your player base out of some desperate attempt to keep your game "Fresh". I say this because I can't think of another reason that would justify taking away the option of SoloQ, for an option we already have. There is no sense in this. There is no valid reason they can use to justify removing SoloQ. If you want to encourage group play, that's great, but don't decide how I want to play for me, by removing my ability to make the choice.

They are going to be keeping an eye on how it turns out and they have backup plans to pivot to (as they are saying). If it's really such a problem, then things will change. Having a fit before it's even out isn't going to affect that.

Except they did a poll and asked us, the players, and an overwhelming amount of players were in favor of this mechanic being implemented... The circle-jerk on the boards and on Reddit are not a true representative of the number of people that disagree with this change. The same 1000 people will always upvote and comment on all posts bashing this change and downvote and hate comment on the ones who disagree with them... The other 1,000,000 people who like this change either don't care about your complaining or don't even realize there is complaining.

Well said. There's nothing stopping them from leaving SoloQ alone.

abundantly clear that Riot dances to their own drum in everything they do.

After a while on the forums and all the hate they get about every little mistake whether a small buff or a new glitch that they have grow quite distant to the community. Every time they try to reach out it seems like the amount of negative support overwhelms the positive and this continually discourages them(Hell I would be to if I owned a game and every time I looked on the forums all I saw was hate and criticism).
