How I feel about Taliyah & a proposed Change.
I've spent about almost a week & a half learning & practicing Taliyah
in both Normals & Bots.
From what I've learned so far, I feel like her [E]: Unraveled Earth feels like it should be her primary focus when it comes to leveling her abilities as it gives her decent waveclear, the ability to zone most champions, somewhat decent damage & it can be tied into her other abilities for combos.
As of 6.11, they gave her [Q]: Threaded Volley "50% additional Damage to minions". This actually helps her with farming minions inlaning phase & I think it's a good buff to her Q for sure. However, I feel like some Taliyah players will feel like this is the ability they should prioritize & end this isn't exactly a good thing since Taliyah won't be able to really fight on Worked Ground created through [Q}: Threaded Volley.
So how does this affect her [E]: Unraveled Earth & what could they change to even further benefit her? Well, let's look at Sion
for a second. Back in Patch 5.5, Sion recieved a change to both his [Q]: Decimating Smash & [E]: Roar of the Slayer since people were prioritizing his [E] over [Q].
Here are the changes in question
[Q] Decimating Smash-
COST: 45/50/55/60/65 mana ⇒ 45 mana at all ranks
RATIO: 0.6-1.8 total attack damage ⇒ 0.65-1.95 total attack damage
[E] Roar of the Slayer-
35 mana at all ranks ⇒ 35/40/45/50/55 mana
I thought they could do something along the lines of those changes I just mentioned. However I do feel like the damage on both of Taliyah's [Q] & [E] are both fair, so what I'm proposing is a simple Mana cost swap (Or maybe just a Lower Mana cost on her [E])
So the changes would go something like this;
[Q]: Threaded Volley-
Cost: ~~60 / 65 / 70 / 75 / 80 Mana ~~ ⇒ 80 / 85 / 90 / 95 / 100 Mana *
[E]: Unraveled Earth-
Cost: ~~90 / 95 / 100 / 105 / 110 Mana ~~ ⇒ Cost: 60 / 65 / 70 / 75 / 80 Mana
This would in turn make her abit more easier to understand and would strengthen her ability to lane. However, I also notiiced in most of the games I played, I've always incorparated
/
either as a first or second buy. This allieviates her mana costs on her [E], but still makes it so she has to watch how much she's throwing at people.
Either way, that's just my two cents on Taliyah since alot of people think she's still kinda on the weak end of the spectrum.
** I changed the Mana costs since I believe 110 Mana is rather high, especially on her [Q] for the kind of ability it is.**
