Ranked, plat 5 same team with s2 vs s1/g5

Hi, I am just curios how is this normal/fair, for a plat5 to be in the same team with s2, and against s1 and g5. It might be the "mmr", wich is something of a mistery, nobody knows how exactly is calculated, however, I am really curios if this is normal for rank.

Did he carry really hard or something? It looks like he did ok, but not amazing. His MMR estimate from op.gg is below his division, like maybe mid-gold. You can't get demoted from plat to gold until you have like a gold V MMR, so sometimes you get people sitting on division 5 of a tier but playing a lot worse.
