The Grind in 1-30 Needs to be Revamped
I recently added a new account in addition to my main because of the fact that I am working overseas and the ping playing from where I am to NA is too high. So I am now leveling this new account back to 30 so I can begin playing ranked once the season starts... and I'm noticing that a lot of things that Riot said they would fix are still prevalent.
Making the new rune system free so that it wasn't locked away for new players. Lo and behold, I finally unlock the ability to create my own rune page using the new system at level 11... and all of the runes I want are locked away behind 20-30 more games worth of experience and levels. What? I thought that was the whole point- to make it accessible for new players as early as possible? You can't say "its to not overwhelm new players" because there are dozens of complex games out there and people pick them up and play them without having to have their hands held. It's just grind for the sake of grind; it doesn't feel good to finally unlock creating your own custom rune pages... and then you find out that you still have more levels to grind out before you can perfect that rune page for the 3 (or 4) new champions you've unlocked in addition to the 10 free week champions.
Runes unlocked at level 13 and 15 from what I can see now? That and you can only make two rune pages from the beginning with only a limited number of runes? What was the point of even unlocking "custom rune pages" at level 11 if you can't do much more than remake the pre-made rune pages? That and I can't even see the rune section that has the Kleptomancy keystone at level 11.
Maybe a small page that showed the level up rewards for each level so that you at least know what you're working towards? As of now it's all grind with no real rewards...
