Seriously, I've never survived one pre level 6, ever. Unless I'm playing a champ with extremely high mobility, I can't do anything to deal with it. His movement is way too fast to react to the gank with a ward. I genuinely can't think of a way to help prevent ganks when the enemy team has a Hecarim.

Ward deep and don't shove lane? He's got to get behind you pre-6 to gank you well... so if Hec is being a problem, freeze your lane near your tower so he HAS to dive you to get at you at all.
If you're shoving in lane and just relying on a shallow ward in the bush right beside you, he's gonna ruin your day. Alter up your strategy to take into account his crazy run speed and stop doing the same thing over and over again and wondering why it's not working... then crying OP.
