Guys let's not rush and judge Tank Ekko in the top lane. I have personally tried Ekko in the top lane and to be honest it was great but I have also tried Trundle, Poppy and Maokai with the same items ( ice gauntlet, sunfire, grasp ) i know have to say that it's not Ekko whos broken its the items, I have buildt zero damage with Poppy and still dealt great damage, so please Riot dont just nerf him his ratios will go bad again just nerf the broken items not Ekko please

The main problem with tank Ekko is that he does everything. He has cc, a shield, plenty of base damage, and an "Oops, I fucked up" button. Part of what makes tank Ekko so hard to deal with is that you aren't going to out trade him because his shield is ridiculous. You're not going to outrun him, because the range and width of his q is massive, and if he jumps onto you, he's going to proc his passive, making him super mobile as well.

Not to mention, when he ults, he gets a percentage of his health back based on damage taken in the past 3 seconds, so if you engage and start bursting him down or doing some heavy damage to him, he can just out trade you, ult, and then increase how much health he has left to ridiculous levels, all while your abilities are still on cooldown, so you're essentially fucked.

It's kind of why tank Akali was a thing (being a hyper-mobile champion with loads of damage and the ability to disappear completely). At least, before she was totally eclipsed by tank Ekko.

Tank Ekko requires a combination of the two. One part of the problem is how well his kit scales with CDR; the other part of the problem is all the "extra" damage he gets from his two passives that happen. How many other champions have not one, but two >100% AP scaling on their abilities? He could certainly have his base damages reduced and maintain relative viability with his AP build. So what if he falls out of the meta? I've seen enough of him in the LCS anyways.

Nerfing his Ratios would cement Tank Ekko as the only way to play the champion. They would hit his cooldowns and his base damage.
