Grievous Wounds

When I saw the return of Executioner's Calling I was all sorts of excited... then I saw what was done to Grievous Wounds. I was able to accept losing the 10% but why, who said is was a good idea to restrict the healing and regeneration to what's only preformed by that champ. With the ridiculous amount of healing that can be done by some supports ( looking at you Nami, Sona, Janna, and especially Soraka) as well as that Keystone that beefs up the resistance of their target allies by 15%, you can see how difficult they can make life. So why, please explain why you decided to change how Grevious Wounds works?

It's intended as a counter to the absolutely bonkers levels of self-sustain they threw out with the masteries, not sustain supports. Sustain supports are already weak compared to their tank/engage and peeling counterparts, and throwing a 40% nerf at them would probably be excessive.

Applying a 40% old-style GW to everyone would delete a third of the support pool from the game, in addition to removing item 3401.

Honestly, this might be the kick to get AP supports picked more and finally move away from the tank support domination of season 5.

My nami and Sona supports would run Morello's so I could help mitigate the lifesteal adcs normally build as well as the healing from the other supports, it just made the lane easier, but now you can't do that. In an exchange you could drop an adc to less than 1/4 health but a few seconds away with Raka and they are back to full. This is where people say kill the support first but it's hard to do when they're in the back line and you're getting shot in the face. Ifor it were just that way for Executioner's and it's upgrade then fine, but there needs to be a response for hyper healing.
