My Thought On The New Katarina!

I'll just get straight to the point; I really do not like this rework. I get that Riot tried to make her have some more counterplay, but they made her have a bit too much counterplay with this falling dagger mechanic. First off, her daggers take way too long to fall; they take a full second to hit the ground and able to activate and by then the enemy has had enough time to react and move out of the range, which negates most of her damage so she can only kill 1 or 2 person at most, if she is fed, before having no escape besides flash so she gets bursted and/or cc'd. She seems just so clunky compared to the old Katarina who was way smoother, faster and efficient at killing people. But ya know, I'm silver and talking out my ass so feel free to leave your thoughts on reworked Katarina.

I think her Q mechanic is mostly meant for the laning phase. She can hop to a dagger, take minions, then come back quickly with the cd reduction on her e. It's ok if people can normally move away from the dagger, because usually that would mean they come towards her. Even with landing just the first part of her Q, she should be able to kill a squishy with E and R.

Her escape is meant to be her E; you might not have noticed yet, but when she uses E on a dagger or picks up a dagger it gets a massive cdr reduction. The combo on her old kit might have felt smooth, but really, it was just point and press four keys (and two of them didn't even need pointing). The delays introduced to her kit might feel a bit unfamiliar and they make her more difficult, but at least Kat players will get the respect they deserve for making good plays.

I actually really like the new Kat, though to be fair I only had a week to play her before she was changed.. You can use your w to set up a lose-lose situation for the person you want to pick off if you drop it wisely; think of it as a little threat radius. Once you get used to how the q drops, you can use it to force your opponent into the range of one of the two daggers, jump in, spin, ult, and pick them off with another q. I don't know if hextech gunblade is actually good stat-wise, but you can use that slow and a good jump to proc your w just by standing on it. All in all, she feels really fluid to me, and if you can get a little clever with your positioning she really takes off.
