Rift Herald QoL Change

Honestly each time i take the rift herald i manage to keep forgetting its there, and when i go to ward i accidentally spawn the thing and it ends up being useless. Can the rift herald have a slot on its own, or maybe require you to double tap it or something in order to place it down? That way i can stop placing a giant scuttle crab instead of a ward.
