What do I need for the chest or S grade? Killers? Little Dying? Assistant? Farm?

If you really want chests, go play Twisted Treeline. Most of them are bots and it still counts as a PVP game so getting an S is super easy.

You need good overall KDA, so good kill participation (kills and assist) and small amount of deaths.

The rank is also skewed towards CS, so if you have average KDA but monster CS, you can potentially still get S that way; but if you have monster KDA and only average CS, you quite likely won't be getting S; so pay attention to that as well. The only exception is probably when the system detects if you build support items or something, or whatever ways they do to detect if you're a support in the match, given otherwise support players won't be getting S ranks if they don't do that.

Also, you're compared with other players playing the same champ, the rank metric is not always static as the benchmark flows with the general performance of the players with that specific champ; the best players with the champ and their numbers will set the bar for which level of play is identified as good and worthy of S rank. This is also why for the champ who is lesser played, they're generally easier to get S rank with; while the more popular the champ, you can't really just do good and get S, you pretty much have to be perfect to get it.

having a support item in your build? you'll need to knock out 2-5 wards minimum and place a few too, regarding control wards...try and place them in a good spot that gets lots of travel and try to protect them if possible (the longer they stay the better it be, but don't die for them)

CS is a factor too, with relic shield i think the cs count from that applies (100/game seems to land S), spellthief I think is the amount of damage you apply.

Participation in objectives (baron, dragon, turret) I'd say helps immensely.

Then again, I'm hardstuck to bronze. so I could be very well full of shit.

Here is the secret you need to get Chests.

  1. Farm. Top, Mid, ADC. 20 minute game you should have near 200 or so. 30+ 250 minimum. 35+ 300 plus.
  2. Kills/deaths - don't matter. Kill participation is the stat they probably look at. So make sure that KDA is nice a high.
  3. Warding - You have free wards, use them.
  4. Do objectives. Hit a tower before it goes down, it all adds up.

My 2 most recent 'S' games.

Yorick, 5/2/3 KDA. 263 farm at 30 minutes (most in the game). 17 wards, only 1 fewer than our support. Most damage to turrets. S-

Nami, 1/2/31 KDA. Kill participation was 64%. Warding was 24 placed, 2 destroyed. 25 min game. Healing done 17k. I got first tower as my ADC went killing, helped with 3 dragons and rift herald. S+

Take these as you will. :)

I've been paying attn since the system came out. The best I can tell...farm is the most important. Look at your cs/min. (The game length counts, btw....longer games need more of everything.) ANYWAY, your cs should be at least 6/m....7-8 almost guarantee an S if you have a good KDA, which is the second most important thing. You want your deaths as low as possible. Assists count 1/2 unless you are support.

Warding, objectives, etc is all minor compared to those first two things.

Antergaton's example is perfect btw...5-2-3 kda is not great, but he farmed more than 8/min....so he still got S-

Well I got an S- by going 2/2/5 in urf. I was a jungler and racked up a whopping 50k objective damage, and i think I had over 350CS at 40 minutes so even if you have a trash kda, ur cs really counts. Udyr [sg-ezreal]
