At a minimum, he needs a new passive. He got gutted, because damage in the ENTIRE game is too high. Wasn't fair to completely gut his damage and give back only %8 attack speed buff, his Q is useless at rank 1. Rengar felt like he could easily one shot, and he got a buff!

actually very useful especially late game if you go for the assassin build so he doesn't get bursted in teamfights instantly

Wukong is in such a fucking weird spot right now. Riot wants to push him more towards a fighter role, which he was good at....5 years ago. However with the way fighters, bruiser and juggernauts are setup he has way more luck in mid lane as an assassin where he can successfully trade against his lane opponent. As opposed to the opposite top lane, where if he gets within melee range of most top champs he's completely fucked.

Rene? Engage get insta-stunned and fucked. Darius? try to trade clone out, get pulled back in and fucked. Gnar? actually he does okay against Gnar. Fiora? Her ult reveals your clone location so good luck. Riven? Insta stun and lose trade. Irelia? Negates alot of your damage when you engage will stun you on the way out and out trade you.

He just doesn't do well against other fighters, so I'm not exactly sure why Riot is trying to push him in that direction which require nothing short of a full rework of his kit or his useless ass passive. Not to mention nothing in his kit fits the fighter niche so he would just feel out of place, especially since most of his kit is an assassin's wet dream. Ability to instantly proc duskblade? Check. Gap closer that does damage? Check. Empowered Auto attack which boops the fuck out of your opponent? Check. Ult that lets you finish off your target and run away? Check.

The entirety of Wukong needs a rework. Ok but real talk his passive isnt useless once you reach level 13 and wanna TF. It has an effect radius of 1400 units so enemy champions can be decently far away and youll get bonus stats. Its just very lackluster and stat checky.
