Malzahar, can you make him work correctly

it is extremely easy to peel an enemy malzahar if a single player decides to hold a stun, displacement, knockup, silence, or if tahm ketch decides to eat the friendly malzahar "for his safety" (<.<). Another point to note is that since malzahar's ult has some startup time (around .25-.5s, this is the timing that he can be eaten even though tahm ketch cannot eat him mid ult normally.) it is fully possible to self-peel a malzahar's ult, but wait there's more, in order for malzahar to apply sufficient burst to a target to be comparable to other assassins (aka zed) he has to place his w, and his e, before he ults, or else the other champion just kills him since all of malzahar's damage is dot, giving the other champion plenty of time to kill him, or just walk away and lifesteal up. Since it takes malzahar 2 spell casts to setup to ult it no longer becomes a question of LCS "plays"to self peel his ult, since it is EXTREMELY predictable, when he is going to ult, and who he is going to ult based on his placement of w and e.

Here is a video of a self peel of his ult

Increasing the missile speed of his ult would go a long way toward fixing buggy situations such as thresh lamp -> malz ult which results in him ulting at a combined distance of his ult distance + thresh lamp distance, removing any chance of malzahar getting cc'd, and similar interactions notice how lee sin was able to use his ult BEFORE any cc or damage was applied from malzahar's ult, preventing the channel from being broken.

it would also reduce the .25-.5s startup before his ult actually does anything, and yet is fully cancelable (though putting the spell on FULL cooldown) which results in his ultimate doing NOTHING, absolutely nothing. For a champion that has such reliance on his ultimate this is really, really bad in terms of game experience because for the next 120/100/80 seconds, he has no way to lock down someone who is trying to kill him, no deterrent to tower diving, and no way to safely kill as his ultimate puts out a hefty 250 damage at level 6 and is not considered dot damage in a 1v1 situation.

Considering how squishy he is and how immobile he is, it is disgusting how unreliable his one stun is, not to mention how this ability with a two minute cool down is invalidated by item 3140 and can be self peeled, even if you miss the timing to self peel.

There is a reason why he is never seen in a pro circuit, because he is a buggy, unreliable mess.

So can riot get around to fixing these "features" (bugs) and "counterplay" (silly champion interactions) to his ultimate.

hint just make the startup animation much, much faster, or make the projectile come out earlier in the animation cycle or increase the missile speed for a reduced effect,
or read the forums from years and years ago if you don't believe that this is a legitimate complaint.

Ziles said way back in the day "Skills are tools. Players count on them to do a job. When a skill is highly unreliable, we have to overpower it to make it 'satisfying enough'. Let me give you an example: Let's say Kayle's targeted invulnerability ult had a 95% chance of working, and a 5% chance of doing nothing when cast. We'd have to make it a LOT stronger to make it 'good enough' because you could not rely upon it... and it would be a lot less fun. Random abilities have this problem on reliability"

Do you know what ability is not reliable, bugfixing.

and please don't tell me that these interactions are "counterplay" because malzahar's ult is already counter-played by playing with a friend or buying item 3139 or item 3140 or using cc on him and killing him. He is already immobile and therefore cannot escape or reliably engage, has low burst in a teamfight (if you cannot dodge his q, you have bigger problems), has mediocre wave clear until 6 and fairly bad laning pre 6.
