Riot has announced their intention to give separate ranks for each position!

First of all I want to say THANK YOU! This will be a huge step forwards to improve fair matchmaking.

That said there are some SERIOUS abuse cases that must be addressed and prevented if this feature is ever going to improve fair matchmaking.

1. Players could queue up for their weakest role and then role-swap to their strongest role in order to try and get an easier match. Safeguards should be put into place to reduce or limit MMR and LP gains (or losses - for opponents) from matches where this happens. Additionally, players who show a tendency to do this maybe should be punished for damaging the experience, integrity and fairness for other players.

2. Players who want to pick their role earlier or later in the pick order could be screwed by where pick order places them. Swapping champions can be unwieldy. Please give players the opportunity to trade pick order positions just like they can currently trade champions.
