A little note about Anivia's strength (and maybe why not to bash her as super OP and super ez)
Anivia's definitely been pretty strong recently, right? Anivia's always been strong, yes, that's true. HOWEVER!

Anivia was among the mages who got mana consumption compensation
-
RoA, generally considered a core item on Anivia, got it's AP Buffed up to give 80 initially and 40 for a total of 120. Not to mention, it's mana got buffed to give 800 mana once it's fully charged. Which leads to more synergy with...

Archangel's Staff, another "core" item on Anivia. A while back, it was changed to include Needlessly Large Rod in it's recipe and thus Archangel's AP was bumped from 60 to 80. And it's passive also gives her even more AP due to RoA giving more mana.

As Riot has stated, Anivia does indeed synergize well with the new Keystone Masteries, particularly Thunderlord's Decree. Her double proc on her Q gives two stacks of Thunderlord's, and every tick of her ult gives Thunderlord's a stack as well.
Anivia was too powerful and was in need of the few nerfs she got, right? I agree. Items Anivia frequently buys got buffed and she synergizes well with the new masteries. But the factors that pushed her over the top were, all but one, changes to factors in the game, not her. Yeah, Anivia may have been overpowered, she may still be. But that doesn't suddenly make her kit, or the champion, super easy freelo/etc.
I just played Anivia, with I think is a somewhat standard build of
. I ended the game with 800-some AP without an elixir. If another champ had the items in their core build buffed to give them 800-some ability power I bet they'd be pretty damn strong too.
Maybe I'm being nitpicky, but there's a distinction between a champ whose op because the meta or game changes around them favor them, than a champ whose OP and ez because they are OP and ez.
Anivia's kit itself has BARELY ever been changed. Sure, are E->R R->E easy? Yes, they are, but there's more to mastering Anivia's kit than two of her abilities. Her wall can screw her or her teammates over if she doesn't use it right. Her Q is pretty slow and somewhat hard to hit. Her kit is somewhat slow and requires some dexterity and precision to wield effectively. That hasn't changed. Anivia hasn't become any "Easier."
Sorry, I just saw some threads on this and needed to ramble.
