Dear Riot

Dear Riot,

Today I would like to write a lengthy and hopefully clear discussion post about how I feel about the season and ask questions that I would love responses to. My hope is none of these come across as attacks or bashing. I simply want to explain how I feel and how I think (key word there think) many of the people on the forums feel about the season and direction of League of Legends. If these are not things you would like to post on the forums I would love to perhaps email or sit down and talk with one of you and perhaps learn from you. I am open to being corrected and being shown a new perspective to look at the game from. I am merely consumer and know nothing of making or managing a game.

1. Data and Statistics: I have continuously heard about data or statistics. I would love to know where you get these and perhaps make them more available to us the consumer to look at and understand where you are coming from. If anyone has ever taken a statistic course you know that depending on how you word things it can make it make something look better or worse no matter what the statistics look. I feel many of the consumers feel you guys are lying. (I personally have no idea and choose to take your word on things unless I personally experience something that makes me second-guess you.)

2. Lore: Personally I love stories. I love having a reason for why things or going on. In League there is a rich plethora of characters (yes I just used plethora in a sentence). And I would LOVE more in-depth stories for the characters. Comics, books, min-series on Youtube or Netflix (I would die from joy at either of the mini-series ideas) anything would be a good start I feel many of us would enjoy. I of course understand you guys are a video game company. You have an awesome game and want to stick to what many of you are truly gifted at. I would just love for there to be more updates on Lore. As well as making it easier to access. The fact is I have no idea where to begin when it pertains to League Lore. I have seen Youtube videos but all of those come from the person who did the video and I cannot find any of their stories on your website. Well not in easily accessible areas. This is why I am a little annoyed as well as the lack of consistent lore creation. However, is personally one of the things I want to learn from you guys about because I love writing stories and I would love to see the mindset for creating characters and the direction you guys plan.

3. Death Timers: As is over running the forums, people do not like the death timers. I know you guys just changed them a bit at the 30-55 minute mark. However it was not very clear as to how many seconds were changed from the timer. I would love some clarification instead of having to go in-game, die, and document it. So perhaps more information on this. That being said I feel it would be nice to be less afraid of loosing 1 team fight and constantly having the one guy going “gg death timers” (Which is annoying that he does that but sometimes I feel he has a valid point).

4. Turrets: Personally, and I have seen many other people talk about this, we feel the turrets are to weak. I do not have some God-like answer for how to solve this. It may be best to make them tankier, do more damage, I do not know. I just know that if I tp to bot lane from Top I tend to loose my turret. I would love to leave lane knowing it takes at least 2 times leaving my lane to loose a turret. Instead of constantly leaving lane knowing I just sacrificed my turret. Personally I would love for them to be tankier but again there is no guarantee my idea would work.

5. Game Time: This is more of a question than my opinion. Why do you guys seek to lower the amount of time in-game? It has appeared that you guys have saught to decrease game time and make them quicker. I would love to know why so that I can discuss with you while understanding your opinion and what your goal is.

I have a few others but I would rather save them for a later time. I would love to hear from Riot. (I hope this did not come across as me attacking you or attempting to be argumentative. I would just love to understand your mindset.) I would especially love to hear more on the Lore but I am sure everyone else would love to hear about everything else. And again, I would love to have the chance to just talk with a member of Riot staff and understand the mindset, and perhaps learn a few things.
