Kha'zix passive attack animation feels clunky

I generally prefer to play Kha'zix in lane. I try and reset my passive every time I get the chance, but when I try to auto attack it feels way more clunky than a normal auto attack. Then end up canceling it 3 times and miss out on massive damage in laning phase.
