Three Simple Improvements (Turrets, Vision, Team Builder)
Nothing controversial, just three common sense suggestions to fix some of the problems in the game that most of us agree on.
- Turrets - Swiss cheese since the start of season 6. It takes almost no effort to take a turret down, and it delivers pathetic damage compared to years prior. You can get killed by a champ near a turret and sometimes the turret won't target them, some champs can heal while tanking turrets (Mundo, Garen, etc) to a degree of near absurdity. Turrets aren't supposed to be easy to take down, the rewards are too good for the defense these towers have right now. How to fix it?
- Make turrets 3,000 health flat
- Turrets gain 70% magic/physical damage resistance until 7 minutes into the game, lowers to 60% from that point on
- Turrets deal half physical half magic damage on their attacks so you can't build 300 armor and never worry about it
- Champions who take turret shots with no minions nearby should take DOUBLE damage
Easy solution. This allows turrets to be a lot stronger and also do mixed damage and punish those who try and take it down with no minions/etc.
- Vision - Right now we have a really bad problem in some games of people refusing to ward, or warding one or two times and then not warding ever again, and a lack of sweeping and farsight alterations entirely. So, for those of us sick and tired of the limitations on vision (3 stealth 1 control) how about the trinket has an upgrade of 1,000 gold, allowing:
- 3 stealth wards (recharge on their own without going back to the shop - the recharge rate is equal to the warding time, so if it lasts 120 seconds, it takes 120 seconds to recharge)
- 1 Control ward (does not refresh unless returning to the shop)
- Sweeping/Oracle lens
- Farsight view
This would have a small mini display like Kindred or Rengar's with the options for what you wish to use - vision, farsight, or sweep. In this manner, you have all the vision and sweeping tools available to you. Many games, I've had to take a sightstone and an oracle's simply because nobody else is warding and sweeping, at the detriment to my build since one spot is taken up by the ruby sightstone.
I'd also ask that the sweeper and control ward actually REMOVE traps and enemy wards as they are supposed to rather than have somebody walk into the bush to clean 5 mushrooms or 3 lotus traps out in an amount of time you simply can't finish. Basically one HP per 1 second until the item is cleared out? I think that's reasonable.
- Team Builder - We need it, pronto. When you think about it, blind pick for normal games had every issue cured by Team Builder:
- Guaranteed role
- Guaranteed champion
- Boot ability on obvious trolls queueing in (Instead of taking a 5 minute dodge, you can click a button and banish the troll somewhere else)
It can be used with the blind pick queues since it also is a blind pick in terms of you have no idea who the opponents will be. This minimizes queue time and maximizes the enjoyment factor since you -know- you can use your role and your best champions.
Riot, face facts: Draft takes too damn long, blind pick is riddled with problems this mode fixed, and Champion Select simply isn't a proper replacement as it does not guarantee champion or role.
What gives me hope is that you reverted several changes this year already, in terms of Blade of the Ruined King's current % health back to 8% and Kog'Maw was reverted pretty much to the way he was pre-ADC rework, and you killed dynamic queue. Before season 7 officially starts, PLEASE give us back our team builder? It has been a really horrible year, and if you guys want to see these changes implemented please upvote and keep the thread alive!
