Synergy

Hey guys I am a top main and I play a lot with my friend who is a jungle main or I play with my friend who is a mid main. We play a variety of champions but I never know who to play because I hate playing the same champions over and over cause I get bored so I usually try to pick a champion that synergies well with their champ but is it better to do that with the mid laner or the jungler?
