Revive Aatrox's revive : this could be possible and COOL.
Hey,
Aatrox revive really was some unique and cool feature of the kit, and its removal really lost an important part of its identity, even if I understand the reasons for it - apparently broken in coordinated play -. Given my game level, I certainly can't give valuable advice on how to balance such a feature, but I certainly can imagine some 'WOW COOL' ways to return it.
So, Aatrox is a battle demon? Make him revive through battle sacrifices.
-
- Blood for Arioch.. Er, Aatrox : If Aatrox dies, teammates could sacrifice some of the damage they inflct to enemies to replenish Aatrox life bar, and then summon him back.
- Shortly after he dies, Aatrox goes into "ghost" form for a short duration, like he was when he was first released. Teammates can click or channel Aatrox ghost (for a very short time obviously, since this will certainly happen during temfghts, and they would have to be close to him) and becomes his priests. Priests are visible for the enemy, making them primary targets.
- Part of the damage that the priests inflict to the enemies (there is a lot of choice here regarding numbers : % or absolute values, limited to magic or physical, or even true damage) goes towards Aatrox health pool, and/or the priests take additional damage for Aatrox - and this additional damage goes to Aatrox health pool.
- As soon as he reaches a threshold, Aatrox can use his ultimate to revive with a low health bar, or he can wait to retrieve more health - at the risk of seeing his priests die
-
- Haunted : If Aatrox dies, he revives if his killer is killed or takes sufficient damage - and maybe even the killer is haunted if he stays in range of Aatrox ghose, dealing less damage or taking more of it for a short time.
-
- The dead don't die (for too long) : Similar to 1, instead of replenishing Aatrox pool and reviving him in-situ, part of the damage his priests deal or take reduces Aatrox respawn timer. This would make for some very interesting strategic decision, and avoid the snowballing effect that the revive has on teamfights.
There. I'll let you add numbers everywhere you see fit (ranges, damage ratios, etc) - and just remember how cool this "reborn through battle" fantasy could be.
