Probably the most underrated LoL tips ever?
So I've been playing a few rounds here and there, and found some tips the no one really seems to be talking about. _ 1. Giving advice is good, but make sure you're doing it correctly._
If you have a player on your team that just isn't very good, you might want to offer some tips. But make sure you are saying it politely, otherwise the player might think you are trying to flame at them, and will perform worse. For example, if your Ashe keeps running into the enemy team and dying, you should try to avoid saying "OMG NOOB ASHE STOP FEEDING THE ENEMY TEAM" or anything along those lines. Say it so Ashe actually takes it as constructive feedback instead of an insult. Something like "Hey Ashe, try to stick with us next time, we can keep you safe" might just work.
Also, you should try to avoid phrases like "Stop dying!". It doesn't help, and sounds harsh. Use "Try not to die" instead.
2. Congratulate you teammates for doing something good.
Believe it or not, congratulating your teammates makes them perform better! If your support made a move that saved the whole team, you should probably thank them and tell them they did a great job. This encourages them to make more plays like that. But don't flatter them too much, or they might get cocky and do something dumb.
3. Know when to take a break.
You're one win away from being promoted to Diamond. You make a silly mistake and lose, but you decide to queue up to another round. You lost that one as well. You're about to lose your mind as well as all your games.
It's times like these that you should maybe close LoL and take a break. Listen to relaxing music, take a nap, or go for a walk, these all help. You'll be on your way to Diamond in no time!
4. Admit your mistakes.
Have trouble dodging Lux's ult? Tell your team about it! Can't get Blue Buff without dying? Ask a friend how they get buffs!
More often than not, admitting your mistakes will help you improve. You team can tell you how to fix them, so don't be afraid! They can also do their best to help you get out of a situation like that. For example, if you die to Cait's ult every time, your team might block it for you. You can learn from your mistakes too!
5. Think positive thoughts.
This might sound silly but, thinking about winning actually helps me win! Just imagine you playing a champion you like/someone you want to improve on. Imagine getting a Pentakill, taking down objectives, things like those. It often helps to pay attention to detail as well, like your teammates' usernames, your enemies' usernames.
6. Don't bash yourself.
It might be tempting to call yourself stupid after you died to an underleved Nidalee, but remember, you'll get better someday! Insulting yourself doesn't help anyone, and actually does more harm than good. You might even come across to others as an attention whore (Excuse my language.)
7. Know what champion you like playing best, and stick with that champion.
It's always a good idea to keep a champion you call your main. Playing that champion often really helps you improve, and one day you'll get to the point where you can dominate the game no matter what the matchup. But that doesn't mean don't try out new champions!
8. Don't play champions just because they're OP at the moment. You might end up hating them.
Sticking with the topic from the previous tip, you should play your main champion as often as possible. Just because a champion is strong now, it doesn't mean they will stay strong. Many champs go through various nerfs and buffs, so sticking to what (or who) you love most is the best choice.
9. Remember, the Mute button exists.
If your team is being toxic and unfriendly, you can always mute them.
Once I was playing as ADC, me and my support Soraka were both having a great time. Then we realized no one else on my team was warding. I asked politely "Hey guys, we don't have a lot of vision, could everyone please try to ward a bit more?" Our top laner replied "Shut up we know already! I am warding okay?" A few moments later when I checked on the minimap, I noticed still no one but Soraka and I were warding. So we decided to help. We left lane to ward, but the enemy ADC, support, and mid laner noticed we left lane and began to push. I made the silly mistake of jumping straight into a 1v3. Soraka tried to heal me but I was already dead. She died too. Then our top laner said, in All Chat, "GG REPORT OUR NOOB TRIST AND SORAKA FEEDING. OMG" I muted him and he didn't bother me for the rest of the game.
If you ever find yourself in a situation like this, muting is always an option.
Hope this could help, and best of luck on the Fields of Justice!
