Please change Ranked league promotion method.

16-1... I just played a game a Pantheon jungle where I started out 16-1 by my first death. My mid lane was winning handily, bot lane was doing fine despite a few ganks by the enemy jungler, and we had both mid and bot towers pushed by 20 minutes. I nearly had a full build, and could pretty much just fly into any fight and finish off whoever was there. My team was ahead by over a dozen kills and we were on a fast track to an easy victory.

But top... For the love of all that is holy our top lane. I have never seen a player do so poorly, or ever seen someone so cluelessly outplayed before. I have seen friends who have never played a MOBA before do better than this guy. This guy fed top lane to a point so bad, that the other team started going top just to catch up on kills/gold because the guy would just let them kill him. And after the next 5-10 minutes they were caught up to a point that they were making a comeback.

And no, I couldnt have stopped this, every time I went top to try and save the guy, he would either back to the turret and recall, or die before I could get there and his opponent would back because his wards saw me coming.

Finally after having fed off of our top lane enough, we ended up losing entirely because top lane was doing so bad. We would have been better off as a 4v5, because the player was never in position, or would just walk out to lane to "farm" and get ganked by their entire team.

Ok so now that this rant is over, there needs to be something done about progressing through Ranked Leagues when situations like the one above happen. 4/5 of the team is snowballing and doing perfectly fine, but one lone guy drags them down so bad they end up losing.

promotions need to be based of of personal performance, not a simple Win/Loss factor. This past week, I was on a winning streak 3-4 different times, and just as I get to a promo series, I get paired with a Troll or Unskilled Player who drags the game down and blows my series away.

Heck, one day I failed 7 three game promo series in a row, and I mean I played 21 games in a row in one day (back to back x21). Every single game, I had a positive KDA, good CS, bought wards, everything a good player does, but couldnt get a Win because 1-2 team mates just threw the game down the gutter.

I don't know what could even be done about this, because reporting for unskilled/intentional feeding doesnt work and will only happen after the game is ruined, not to mention the Tribunal isnt even working now.

Maybe change the LP system to be based on performance/kda ratio/etc and have a promotion based on whether you did well regardless of if you won or loss. It shouldnt be up to a random group of 3-4 people whether or not someone gets promoted, if a player does everything he is supposed to in a game, goes 25-2-11 and has 350 cs, he shouldnt get demoted/lose a series because someone AFKs or feeds a lane he had nothing to do with.

I think Im just rambling at this point, but seriously, the games I have had the past few days have caused so much frustration I just needed to vent.

I can't remember what thread I read this in, but it was very recent and brought up a similar proposal which a red answered as to why they can't do that. It went something like this;

If CS or KDA was a major or sole factor in gaining LP and getting promoted, many players would suddenly focus on farming and staying safe, and only ever going into a fight where they could snag a kill/assist, and leave their team to die if it looked remotely bad. This would encourage players to greedily play for themselves and lose their matches instead of playing for the team and winning.

For me, as a support main, a KDA system for gaining LP would rocket me up to Plat in no time, unfairly to a tanky top laner who spends the game keeping the other tanky top laner in lane. It's very easy to get a 3.0 score, and often can nab something like 20-30+ because of a single or no death and many assists.

It should be highly unlikely that you go 21 games unable to carry. It might be that you're missing something in your own game that's keeping you from progressing. In your game, the Malphite top was only 1/6. The enemy team's worse player was 0/9. It was likely winnable, but the other team played it better. You can't always salvage this, but you can try to learn ways to help your lanes as best you can.

If you can identify potential problem lanes in advance, you can start asking yourself how to help them out. In Malphite's case, both WW and Rammus have serious CC potential, and Rammus can tower dive very easily. If you see Malphite fall behind, you can anticipate him likely feeding because that combo he's against is merciless once you are so weak that they can DPS you down. Try warding Rammus's red side jungle. This should be especially easy if you are snowballing like you did, and the enemy mid lane is so far behind. You should have had practically free reign over their jungle. By warding Rammus's red side, you can ping whenever he moves to gank top and save your Malphite before he gets 2v1'd.
