Akali's Mark of the Assassin

I was wondering what all does the term "melee attacks" include. From what I can see it includes only her basic attacks and nothing else. Does it include items or what? Because melee is a confusing term, I'd assume melee meant all attacks (including items) by definition. Should it be changed to basic attacks, or do item attacks also set off the second hit? B/c honestly the first hit doesn't do much damage and the combo damage is what makes her q worth while. Please inform me, or does she need a rewording to match other champs who state basic attacks set off the damage.

first, love the name <3 2nd yea it only applies to basic attacks. but because it has the delay of you having to auto to proc it you can auto Q and auto again to double proc fast for good damage. Not a big fan of the spin to win akali, since it made her less mechanically challenging for people, but that's her signature combo
