My Idea for Kassadin
Hello, I am a platinum player (I think that ELO doesn't matter but your performance, but for those who do care for ELO there you go). I would say I have a very good understanding and I'd like to share my opinions of Kassadin Vs. other Assassins.
I REALLY wanna point out that win rate does not fully mean a champion is bad, but just how long a champion has had a low win rate (46% or lower). I mean if you look at the picture you will see champions like Lee Sin, Azir, Leblanc, and Gragas who are all good champions but just in a low win rate (either the people playing them are having a rough month/week, or they just don't fit the meta for a while). Back the the topic, Before Kassadin's last nerf (5.4) I remember his play rate was rising but his win rate was still at a stable 46-48% and it was nice, but then Riot nerfed his Ult and Q making him drop to a 35% win rate until they gave back half of his nerf to him but caused him to hover around a 40-43% win rate. It has been like this since 5.4 and is now close to 5.16 so I can say he is in a bad spot.
I'd also like to quote that the Riot's balance team has once stated that "they like to nerf weaknesses and buff strengths, but will nerf strengths unless its low risk with high reward and not fun to play against." Yet they nerfed his ult range when it takes **TONS OF MANA **, he must be 6, and does very little magic damage. I mean you'd think his mobility would be a strength that makes Kassadin; Kassadin. I find his ult fairly balanced compared to
dashes.
Now lets just say what a assassin is. A assassin should be a champion that has high levels of burst and mobility to take out a target (ADC & APC) but be squishy and has to take timing,positioning, and mechanics to get a kill and make it out alive. Well Kassadin doesn't have the burst or execution that most assassins have because his damaging abilities have a long cooldown for a assassin and as well he has mediocre base damage with decent AP ratio.
[Q: 70 / 95 / 120 / 145 / 170 (+ 70% AP) with a 9 second CD & E: 80 / 105 / 130 / 155 / 180 (+ 70% AP) with a 6 second cooldown but needs 7 spells to charge] See?
Well my idea is to give him a execution on his W to compensate for his mediocre/average damage on his Q and E.
W - Nether Blade
Beware my void-saber! Activation Damage: 40 / 65 / 90 / 115 / 140 (+ 60% AP) Bonus Magic Damage -> 5% / 6% / 7% / 8% / 9% (+2% per 100 AP) of targets MISSING health as magic damage
Well what does this do and why change this?
What does it do? This gives him a nice execute to finish squishys after he does his R,Q,E,W combo so he can be like his cool assassin friends, it makes him wanna buy more AP and makes a sheen more important on him instead of going "Mannadin", or going AP Offtank.
Why? Well its obvious after the nerfs and buffs to Kassadin's Q,E,R that Riot doesnt wanna change it anymore so why bother.
NOTE I already realize there is a kassadin buff on PBE right now where they gave his ult a 2% AP ratio with a extra 1% AP ratio per ult stack and It would be absolutely fine if Riot wanted to monitor him with his new buff first before buffing him anymore but if it doesn't help him much I'd like to suggest that they put this change on PBE, change some numbers if its too strong or too weak and see if this improves him more and makes him better.
