Heimerdinger Counterplay

Heimerdinger has always been dear to my heart. He is my favorite champ in the league, so when I speak, I speak from a personal bias obviously.

Despite him being my favorite, I still feel that he cannot be picked before the enemy mid laner for three reasons, and they are:

, , and

Yes, heimer has other decent counters like , , or , but they are nothing compared to these three.

The pokey champs that can take out your turrets quickly, that's good healthy counter play for heimerdinger. You will have a difficult lane to be sure, but you should at least be able to be even with them or marginally lose as you'll either lose all of your turrets quickly, or get poked out of lane a lot. I honestly don't even have a problem with 's ability to pick up heimer's turrets.

The problem with , , and is that once they hit level 6, they can take out heimer with ONE combo. If you get hit with one single Q from , you're dead. If hits you with her dash, the rest of her combo is nearly unmissable. And if gets a stun off on you, her full combo WILL kill you. There is no counter play, you get hit with one ability from them and you're dead. It doesn't matter how much farm you deny them, it doesn't matter how much higher level you are over them, or what you try to build pre-6, you can even be full HP at the start of their combo, none of it matters. Dead.

Literally the only way to win lane at that point as heimer vs any of these 3 is to not get hit by a SINGLE stun, root, or dash; and that's just ridiculous. Heimer's kit could use a CC cleanser (best option) or a magic resist shield (probably too OP of an option) or something to give him just a little bit more sustain against these 1-shot mages.

I realize that there are other champs out there that have the same issues as heimer does with these three, but I feel like I speak for the crowd of them when I say "Please riot, don't let them 1-shot me :("
