PSA: Being hostile in a post will guarantee a Rioter will not respond
Now mods, hear me out. These types of posts that are hostile usually involve balance and happen a lot in gameplay alone. I dont think posting anywhere else other than here would really solve what im trying to achieve here.
Anyways, Yes. I get it. Youre all frustrated, you feel as if riot doesnt CARE. You feel as if they want to ruin the game for money. You feel as if theyre not taking players into consideration before making changes. Many things like this.
But lets go take a peek on Riots side here. Lets see something Riot Sparkle recently posted
Ok, let's talk about this for a sec. This is not a great way to communicate, so I (and most other Rioters) would generally ignore this topic. Let's talk about why, though. I feel like you're trying to follow some of the rules of good communication and are currently frustrated with your lack of responses. So, some reasons why you might not be getting the replies you're after:
This topic is an opinion disguised as a question. You probably knew this one. No, it's not somehow better when posted in this format. As my father used to say: "I didn't fall off the turnip truck yesterday" which in this case translates to "I can see this is still hostile even though you put a ? at the end". The opinion you hold here that you're trying to get across in this question is that Wukong should be "touched" but you offer no indication for what you actually want to talk about or are unhappy with (why touch him? The gameplay? The visuals? His backstory? A particular ability? His interactions with items or runes or whatever?).
You're actively asking for a head to roll. This topic is literally asking "hey which Rioter can I yell at for this thing?". So like, you're not actually dodging the "blaming" thing from your topic title at all.
You're somehow implying one dude is in charge of making Wukong decisions or something, idk. That's not how it works. There is like, actually literally no answer to your question because that's not how decision making happens on League of Legends. I have no idea how you think we work, but it's not like we have weekly Wukong meetings or something. If you wanted to know more about that decision making, that would be legit but that's not what you asked.
Now, if anyone has a genuine question I'm usually more than happy to answer if I know an answer or direct someone to the conversation if it will be productive. A topic/start like this wouldn't make for productive discussion though. However, I wanted to let you know why this topic wouldn't usually get a response, because you seem frustrated with the lack of responses in general.
There are many other Rioter posts which address this, but the bottom line is,
#Riot is not obligated to respond to anyone. Sometimes they just flat out dont have a definite answer and are not allowed to post anything because they simply dont know. Being hostile toward them will also not get you a response because youre just simply being an ass. If they dont resond to an actual, non hostile question you have, they either didnt see it or they dont know.
Being hostile to Riot will get you NOWHERE. Some companies dont even say ANYTHING to their players. Heck, Riot used to not do it either, but now they are, and theyre still trying to get better at communicating. Take Varus for example, Could they have communicated better before they changed his lore? Yeah and they acknowledged they messed up. But being hostile at them for doing that and expecting them to just undo what they did gets you nowhere.
Be friendly. Dont expect to get an answer. Riot is not obligated to respond to anyone.
Now the next part. Riot DOES care about the players and what they think.
But lets be honest. Thinking Riot will do whatever the playerbase wants isnt realistic. Lets take Wukong for example, people would like for him to get changed. Okay sure thats a good idea and all. But then you have champs like pantheon, swain, irelia, etc who need it more. Good idea? yes. Practical? no. Riot has to consider how their changes affect EVERYTHING before they go and do anything. Do they mess up sometimes? hell ya. who doesnt? You cant expect Riot to do everything players ask of them. Take the adc debate for example. their builds are pretty cheap compared to others. damn for a late game class? they must be OP. but they dont consider how ADCs need to stack stats for their autos to become efficient with those items. Causing them to need around 3+ items before they start to scale. Riot wont listen to the 'nerf adcs pls' threads because were probably not thinking of all the factors that could be at play with the ADC issue. You cant just take a few parts of an issue and jump to a balance idea off that. Riot takes everything into consideration.
Riot DOES care, but they cant always listen to the playerbase/forums.
Anyways, thats kind of a broken down explanation on why being hostile doesnt work, and why Riot doesnt seem to listen to the forums.
Thanks
