I'm not sure whether this is just how hard the elo reset was or if it's a glitch. I went 6-4 in my placements (not great, but still above 50%) and dropped to Bronze 1? When I finished last season at Gold 4. How does that work if it's supposed to be like that, and if not, is there any way I can report it?

Also my friend who was silver 1, went 5-5 and got silver 5... I don't see the logic there, there's no way his mmr was better
Were you expecting to be put into Plat? You go down when you start a new season, you don't get placed in the same spot.

They said openly that you'd drop in rank even if you won all 10 matches.
Calm down, I was gold 1 and I will probably go to silver 5, so I will fall down even more than you. Just climb back, if you deserve the spot you once held you will get there really fast. And no, it's not glitch, this is how it's supposed to work.
Also I don't understand why they would reset the elo so hard, I get that it's a new season and a lot of things were reworked, but you're telling me from one patch I go from a gold player to a bronze player?
You're likely placed a bit below your MMR level, this way you have room to move instead of just being placed at the very top of your skill level where you would likely just lose many games. You should have easier games at Bronze 1 level and will earn a lot of LP so you could get back to Gold 4 quickly.
