Spring 2016 Starters Discussion + Week 1 Analysis (Who Do You Start Week 2?)
Hi there!
Ok, so the purpose of this forum is exactly what the title describes, to help people set up their best line up possible heading into the next week of games. We've all experienced a moment where we are choosing between two players, not sure which one will have the better turn-out with regards to their current match-ups, their record, if their on a losing streak, new subs of the team, etc. This can now become a place where the fantasy community can help each other out with their rosters so that they are receiving their full potential each and every week. This can also be a place to discuss possible Add/Drop possibilities. Anyway, everyone can understand the purpose behind this forum now.
Just simply post a question about who you are deciding between, along with your reasonings behind why you should and shouldn't start them. Then hopefully a fellow fantasy community member will be able to respond and help you make your decision. Anyone can help out! Multiple opinions and beliefs are better than just one! Remember, Strength in numbers.
Disclaimer: Human beings cannot foresee the future, everything posted on here are just calculated predictions/opinions.
Hopefully this now provides a means for all of us as a community to help each other in achieving the glorious 1st place spot in your respected leagues, along with the entitled sensation of "Bragging Rights." Best of luck to all of you! #FantasyLCS #DecisionsAreHard
Week 1 Analysis
OK Everybody. Week 1 Fantasy LCS can be summarized by the following equation: NA > EU.
By simply looking at the stats, NA players dominated the top of the stats sheet this week, and that shouldn't shock people. Week 1 NA was a bloodbath to be had by all. Where as EU played a very conservative, cautious play style.
However. this is just the first week. Teams are only just beginning to learn how to work and cooperate with these new roster changes, so we should try our hardest to not take these week 1 results at face value. This is just the start of the split. Its important to think in the long term here. The most prominent example of this is Origen. There week 1 was...underwhelming to say the least, And newer fantasy owners will make the mistake of dropping POE for Shiptur because of Week 1 scoring.
TD:LR If you have a team that, historically speaking, is a strong, consistent team, but they failed hard in week 1, DONT DROP THEM! They will come back in due time.
TD:LR 2: Any early trades you make in these first three weeks must be viewed in the long term mind set.
Sleepers Week 2
OG:
I have to put them in here so I can give my two cents about them. OG had a rough week 1. But that can be explained by two things: they, supposedly, had internet issues leading up to the games and were unable to practice with one another, and that they are all adjusting to the POE roster change. I have much higher hopes this week now that they got the first couple of losses out of the way. They now have this entire week to work and build confidence around one another. They face an two untested teams, VIT and UOL. While the 2-0 UOL seems scary, know that UOL had a VERY easy week 1 in retrospect, and that OG will be a true test for them. Have Faith OG Fans. OG will put up more of a fight this time.
C9
I dont know if this necessarily counts as a sleeper, but know that C9 have a very nice schedule ahead of them this week facing off against both CLG and TIP. By the looks of it, TIP is a strong contender for NA "Punching-Bag" this split. While C9 are 1-1, they showed a lot of potential in week 1, and expect them to capitalize in week 2 against these weaker teams.
REN
Renegades had an alright week for themselves, considering they went up against NRG and TL last week. They were able to score 30+ points against two of the upper end teams. And now this week, they face two, lower end teams (DIG and TIP). DIG is still a sloppy team, and TIP is...well...TIP. Not saying you should choose renegades over that of TSM or IM, but if you are in a pickle and need a stand-in player, renegades have easy week in retrospect. For the record, freeze got 48 points. If he's still available... you should pickem up ;)
G2
These guys came out swinging and I LOVE IT. Granted it was against lower level teams, but they were able to handle themselves fairly well. Now they face H2K and Giants. H2K will be a bit more of a challenge for G2, but they should have no issues against that of Giants. If they are able to beat that of H2K, G2 could be a HUGE threat this split. If you aren't sure of wanting to start a G2 player, make sure he's at least on your bench this week in hopes they beat the snot out of H2K and GIANTS this week.
The "FUNTASY" League
For all of those who are participating in a Funtasy League, Here comes your new, week 2 constraint! So far, we've had...
_Week 1: Who ever had the most kills won. _
**Week 2's constraint is "The Checkerboard": ** This is a roster constraint. This week, you must set up your roster in such that your roster is alternating players from both NA and EU regions. (Including Team Slot!)
EX: Top: EU Player Jungle: NA Player Mid: EU Player ADC: NA Player (So on So Forth)
You can have it set up so you have a NA Top as well, but the roster must be alternating regions down the line.
The team with the most points this week wins the matchup!
I will be hosting a Fantasy LCS Twitch show this wednesday at 8 PM CST. Tune in for all things fantasy and hilariousness. :D
