Discussion about Last Minute Subs/Losing Points

I've been seeing this idea for the past few seasons now: That we should simply pick the position for the given team rather than the player itself. For example, Impact subs out randomly and thus causing you to lose points because he doesn't play a certain amount of games. Frustrating, right? So the suggestions come in stating that we should pick "C9 Top Laner" and then it's fair.

Unfortunately, that's not the best idea. This is the risk/benefit of learning how to "play fantasy" properly. In other sports, like fantasy hockey or football or anything else, players can become injured and not know if this player is playing or not up until game time. And by that time, the player is locked in. While it's extremely frustrating, that is the risk that you're willing to take if you keep that good player on your team.

I understand Fantasy LCS is a little different, because there is a much smaller pool of players to pick from. But that's something you should've kept in mind during the draft at the start, or if you make any trades. So as it stands, I don't see Riot implementing this idea anytime soon, as no other fantasy league does anything like.

TL;DR You run the risk of the player possibly not playing for the benefit of that person probably bringing you a lot of points if they do happen to play. Don't like it? Don't draft that player. Stay up to date on any news that you can, the League of Legends subreddit is pretty good with that.

The problem is if you really want exposure to a certain game say Snake vs IG from LPL today, you can't play Snake ADC because that always changes, you can't play their jungler because that is also in flux.

So everyone end up playing Flandre and Tank
