I wrote this story for my little girl but... Unfortunately, I may never be able to deliver this story to her. So I'll post it here:

The Princess and the Poro

Once upon a time in the kingdom of Freljord, a big burly man lived with his little girl, the princess. To the princess, this man was her daddy, the king of Freljord. The princess would watch him every day as he went about his workout to upkeep his enormous strength. And every afternoon he would go out into the wilds of Freljord and feed the lone poro who lived in this land.
The poro was a cute little creature, covered in an arctic blue fur coat, with little horns and little feet. The poro would hop happily towards the man and his princess, sticking its tongue out, awaiting the fabled Poro-Snax that would soon be fed to the little poro. With each feeding, the poro grew a little each day and the princess could see it. The princess would then hug the poro and giggle saying the poro may one day be as big as her or even as big as her daddy!
The man laughed and stroked his magnificent mustache. Surprisingly, the poro too grew a magnificent mustache to match! The poro looked so silly and the princess giggled happily as the two retired home. Three days in a row passed in the same manner with the princess following and watching the poro be fed.

But on the fourth day, her daddy lay ill in bed. He was too sick to train and too sick to go out and feed the poro. So he entrusted this task to the princess.

"Princess," he spoke, "I am not feeling well, I cannot get out of bed to feed the poro today. I may not be able to get up for an entire week!"
"A whole week?" The princess was shocked, "That's almost seven days!"
The man laughed, "Yes, princess, for seven days, I must rest in bed and each day I need you to venture out to the poro and feed him a Poro-Snax. Can you be a good girl and do this for me?"
"Yes Daddy! I'll feed the poro so he can grow big and strong just like you!" The princess exclaimed.

And so later that afternoon, the princess set out alone to go feed the poro. She was very well prepared for the cold and wore the appropriate clothing for the task: Snow boots, warm pants, a giant belt and nothing to cover her top because that's what her daddy always did. She gleefully trod through the Freljord wilds to meet the poro and fed him a Poro-Snax. Little hearts animated above the poro's head and the princess returned home to tend to her daddy that night feeling accomplished.

The next day, the fifth day, however wasn't as easy. This time she encountered a strange man who warned the princess not to feed the poro. The man wore an arctic coat, carried a cane and had a strange bird perched on his shoulder.

"You must not feed the poro, princess," spoke the man in a harsh and gravely tone, "You will bring great ruin to all of Freljord if you do."

The man seemed strange. He didn't appear to be from Freljord at all. The princess wondered if she should listen to the man or listen to her daddy. She decided her daddy knew best and fed the poro a Poro-Snax. But the strange man was unhappy with her decision and cursed at her. He tried to capture the princess by casting a spell that sprouted talons from the ground. But the princess was nimble and strong, she trained with her daddy every day. So she ran and escaped from the strange man.

The princess told her daddy of the strange man that night. Her daddy listened to her as she recounted her tale:

"I met this strange man and I knew he wasn't from Freljord because he was wearing far too much clothing to be out in the snow. He told me not to feed the poro and when I fed the poro, he got really angry. I was right to feed the poro like you told me, right?
"Yes princess, you are good girl for feeding poro." He gently patted her on the head, "For five more days, you must feed mustached poro. Others may tell you 'Do not feed the poro', for they are afraid but just trust me. I know best." The princess nodded in understanding and the two cuddled to sleep.

On the sixth day, the princess encountered another strange man. This man had a mustache too! But it was a different kind of mustache than like her daddy or the poro.

"Stop right there little girl," spoke the man, "You must not feed that poro."
"Why? Are you going to try to stop me?" Questioned the princess.
"Because... It doesn't have a mustache nearly as magnificent as mine," replied the man. And with that he pulled out a mirror and admired his own mustache. He started talking to himself about how good he looked and so the princess used this time to sneak by, feed the poro and disappear before the man realized what had happened.

"I encountered another strange man today," The princess told her daddy, "He had a mustache too but it wasn't as good as your mustache."
The man laughed weakly, "You may stroke my mustache if you like." And with that he lifted the princess up so she could put her little hands on his mustache. He rolled his face and tickled her hands with the mustache and the princess giggled gleefully yet more. And again they cuddled to sleep and she was entrusted with the same task the next day.

On the seventh day, the princess set out and this time met a very menacing man carrying a large axe. He seemed as if he were focused and ready for a battle. So the princess avoided the man and snuck around him while he was looking for greater foes. Perhaps he thought the princess was beneath him. But her daddy had taught her to be humble and she did not reveal herself as a princess. She easily made her way to the poro and fed the Poro-Snax before retiring that day.

On the eighth day, the princess returned to find that five trees had been sliced in half vertically from top to bottom. Was this the doing of the man she met the day before? The princess almost expected to find a strange man waiting for her again but this time there was no such man. An uneasy stillness fell over the area as she crept up to the poro. She felt as if she were being watched.

Just steps away from the poro, the princess felt a cold blade pressed against the side of her neck! She was in trouble! Before she could scream, she felt a hand over her lips and a scantily clad woman with long beautiful hair had the princess in her grasp.

"And what do you think you're doing, little girl? Don't feed the poro!"

The princess was too scared to speak but it seemed like the woman didn't want to hurt her. The woman could have killed the princess already but had for some reason decided to spare her life. And so she lightly bit the woman's hand. The woman released her grip and spun around to face the princess. This woman had a scar over one of her eyes and had a piercing glare that seemed to look into the princess's very soul.

"But my daddy said to feed the poro every day for a week..." The princess spoke softly, gathering courage, "And... And he said not to listen to anyone who says not to feed the poro!"
The princess stood as firmly as she could, hands on her hips, her bare chest being bombarded by arctic wind, but she wasn't trembling. Neither from cold nor fear. She believed she would complete her quest to feed the poro each day as her daddy told her.

"And who is this 'Daddy'?" The woman questioned.
"My daddy is a strong man," The princess spoke with pride, "He protects me. He has really big shoulders that he lets me ride on sometimes. And he really cares about his kingdom and his people."
"That sounds like..." The woman was startled, "It couldn't be... No... It couldn't be..." The woman appeared to have tears in her eyes as she turned and ran away.

Once again, the princess fed the poro and the poro grew bigger. The poro was almost as big as the princess now! She happily wrapped her arms around the big fluffy poro and gave it a sweet little kiss. The poro seemed very happy and licked the princess with its giant tongue. The princess giggled and told the poro it tickled. And with that she retired to go cuddle for the night.

On the ninth day, the princess expected to encounter a new person but it was the same strange man with the cane and the bird from earlier. He stood calmly and watched as the girl made her way over to the poro. But this time, the girl was caught in his trap and talons sprung up from the ground, pinning the princess's limbs and stopping her movement.

"Never move," quoth the strange man, "I see you have been feeding this poro every day for nearly a week. I must implore you to stop feeding this poro for it may bring disaster to this land."
"But daddy said to feed the poro," the princess struggled, "I have to do what daddy says!"
The strange man retorted, "Do you simply listen to him like a mindless peon? Do you not think for yourself?"
"I do too think for myself!" She spoke bravely as the talons crushed against her tiny body, "And I think the poro needs to be fed. Look how big and fluffy the poro is now! The poro was tiny, smaller than me just a week ago! And now look! Look how big and fluffy! And cute!"
The poro stood silently watching as the two spoke to each other. The poro's tongue lolled out of its mouth as it awaited the incoming Poro-Snax. But the bird man and the princess had yet to finish speaking with each other.

"Heed my warning child," The man started, "If you feed the poro again, the world may be changed forever. You must realize the weight you carry and question what you are doing. The poro is no simple creature, happily accepting your Poro-Snax. The poro may explode and end the world as we know it. And all of this would be because you mindlessly listened to your daddy. Think for yourself. Do not feed the poro!"

The princess looked into the strange man's cold eyes and then looked into the poro's soft eyes and made her choice. The princess reached into her giant's belt and pulled out a Poro-Snax. The poro rushed over and glomped her, freeing her from the talons that bound her. She fed the poro another Poro-Snax and the poro grew yet larger, giving the princess an appreciative lick from her belly all the way up to her face. The princess giggled and hugged the poro happily again.

"Tactical retreat!" called the bird man and with an unsettling caw, he transformed himself and appeared to fly off into the distance.

But on this last night when the princess returned home, she was thinking about what the bird man had told her. Would feeding the poro really bring about the end of the world? Was her daddy just using her? That couldn't be true, could it? That night she didn't go to cuddle as she did each night previous. She wanted to be alone with her thoughts. Was she really doing the right thing by listening to her daddy and feeding the poro? She didn't want to be responsible for ending the world.

Finally the tenth day came, her last day to feed the poro a Poro-Snax. The princess trod off into the Freljord wilds and encountered the poro again. She hesitated. Was she going to feed the poro or not? What if she really did bring about the end of the world by feeding the poro? Maybe she should have talked to her daddy and cuddled with him that night. He would certainly reassure her. But what if her daddy was leading her astray? She had to think for herself. What did the princess thing was right?

The princess shook off the bad thoughts but just as she was about to feed the poro, she noticed something strange. It wasn't a strange person this time but the poro itself was strange. The poro didn't have a mustache. What happened to the poro's mustache?

"Feed me!" The poro chirped.
"You can talk!?" The princess was astounded, she didn't know poro could talk.
"Yes, I can talk. Please feed me the Poro-Snax! I love you very much!"

'Well, that decides it,' thought the princess, all this time she had been wondering if the poro wanted to be fed or not but he poro couldn't talk. Now that the poro was telling her to feed it, she felt obligated to feed the hungry poro. She slowly reached into her giant's belt and slowly procured the Poro-Snax to feed the poro.
"Yes, give it to me. Feed me the last Poro-Snax you have!" the poro sounded sinister.

And again the princess hesitated. Was the princess doing the right thing? Her daddy was a kind strong man and didn't seem like the type of person who would want to bring about the end of the world. And so she held out the Poro-Snax to feed the poro when suddenly-

"Stand behind me!" The king jumped in front of the princess and attacked the poro with his fist.

The princess fell over backwards into the snow; what was going on? The poro transformed from the shape of a poro and into the shape of a woman! The woman carried a staff and let out a menacing laugh.

"Hurry Princess," he called out to her as he engaged the strange woman in combat, "You must not fall for her tricks! Hurry and feed the poro the last Poro-Snax!"

The real poro with the mustache hopped out from behind a fallen tree. It let its tongue out waiting to be fed the final Poro-Snax from the princess. But again the princess hesitated.

"Feed the poro, princess!" Her daddy called out to her. But as he looked away, the strange woman had cast a spell that caused a magical chain to encircle him, slowing him and stopping his movement. And then came the three strange men from before, the bird man, the mustached man and the big axe man. All of them trudged towards her with the bird man calling out to her again, "Don't feed the poro, princess!"

Suddenly the woman with the scar on her eye from before blinked into form behind the king and held a dagger to his throat while he was bound by the other woman's chains.
"Tell the girl not to feed the poro," She commanded.
"No!" Even under the threat of death, the man remained adamant, "She must feed the poro and be a good girl for me."

Being a good girl for him. That was why she set out to do this in the first place! She remembered. She just wanted to be a good girl. She rushed to the poro with the Poro-Snax, dodging an additional chain from the woman that tried to bind her, tumbling to the side to dodge the talons that erupted from the ground. And just as she was going to feed the poro, the axe man yelled out and jumped into the air, his axe coming down like a guillotine to kill the poor princess. The princess screamed, her hesitation would be the end of her...

But suddenly an enchanted arrow slammed into the side of the axe man, freezing him in his tracks, causing him to fall to the side stunned. She still had a chance! She rushed to the big fluffy poro and shoved her arm in its mouth, Poro-Snax and all. And then the Poro began to rumble. And grow. And the bird man went wide eyed, "TACTICAL RETREAT!" he called out and the five combatants withdrew, leaving the princess and the king alone with the growing, unstable poro.

The poro grew and grew and was soon as big as her daddy and then... A white light, an explosion. The poro exploded!

"Oh no!" thought the princess, "The bird man was right! I did bring about the end of the world! I'm so sorry!"
"Good girl!" the brawny man patted her gently on the head.

And then... Much to the princess's delight, the world didn't end. The two were surrounded by poros! Hundreds of tiny poros! Every poro jumping up with their little bodies and licking at the princess and her daddy in appreciation.

"You see," the strong man explained to his little girl, "Always trust me. This is how the poro reproduce. Feed ten Poro-Snax and they explode into many tiny poro."
"Wow! There's so many!" The princess exclaimed happily, "And they're all so fluffy and cute!"
"Yes, my princess. You have done well feeding the poro while I lay ill. Today, you are great hero. And we will celebrate today as Poro Day in all of Freljord."
"Yay!" The girl was happy she helped the poro reproduce into many little poro, "But daddy? How do humans reproduce?" The princess's voice has a touch of concern, "Do you explode into many little humans when you get too big too? Because you're pretty big and I don't want to lose you..."
The man laughed, "You will learn how humans reproduce soon enough. Don't worry. I will not explode." And with that, he picked the princess up onto his shoulders and they went to bed together to retire for the night.

And so the princess and the poro lived happily ever after. And also Poro Day is now a thing.
