A Noxian Harrowing

In honor of the Harrowing I'm posting this little speech. I have a way this plays out visually also in mind, which I'll describe as I go. Hope you all enjoy!

Darkness. Sound of a match being struck. One flares up, casting pale yellow light on thick fingers. For a moment the match is just held up, on hand curled around it to protect it from any stray breezes, and then is pressed against the wick of a lantern, lighting it. Hands close the lantern and then grasp the handle, lifting it up to reveal Darius's face, looking at the viewers. He begins to walk, footsteps echoing, and starts talking:

"Noxian children are not afraid of the dark. Shadowed alleyways hold no terror for them, and any vermin that sulk behind lamp posts or in sewers are merely foes to vanquish, a way for even our youngest boys and girls to prove their strength. We do not coddle our young by teaching them that the night is something to run from, but tell them to venture bravely forth and conquer it, like the true Noxians they will grow to be. Rare is the child who has not spent the predawn hours of many a night chasing friends through the darkened streets of our city.

But on nights like this we keep the young ones indoors, for the dark mist is stirring. It seeps from the shadow isles into our city, lingering in the alleyways, slithering through the streets, claiming the dark as its own. On nights like this we lock our doors before sundown, we walk nowhere alone, and even the strongest and most fearless of us set candles in the windows to watch over us in our sleep.

And on nights like this we tell the children stories. We tell them the tales they will soon learn by heart, tales of watchmen disappearing from their posts and children from their beds, of the screams and wicked whispers that haunt the edge of your hearing if you listen close enough, of the terrors that stalk the shadows of the dark mist. We tell them what we must tell them so that they learn what they must learn:

When the harrowing comes, everyone fears the dark."

Darius places the lantern in a window, and now we are granted a view outside. A typical city street appears, with lanterns burning in every window. From the left side of the view, the black mist rolls down the street. The teal color that characterizes the Harrowing flashes intermittently through it. Slowly, the smoke pours down the street and over the window. When the window is completely covered, we hear Thresh's laugh, along with screams.
