[Champion Concept] Vishnu, the Destroyer of Worlds
[DISCLAIMER]
I do not and have never associated Hinduism or Hindu people with violence or destruction. The origin of this champion's title comes from a quote by J. Robert Oppenheimer (part of which is originally from the Hindu scripture), as follows:
"We knew the world would not be the same. A few people laughed, a few people cried. Most people were silent. I remembered the line from the Hindu scripture, the Bhagavad-Gita; Vishnu is trying to persuade the Prince that he should do his duty, and to impress him, takes on his multi-armed form and says, 'Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.' I suppose we all thought that, one way or another."

Vishnu is a nuclear-powered robot. An AP caster whose abilities inflict radiation poisoning on his targets, Vishnu is an extremely strong mage with a bit of CC, intense magic damage, and DPS.
Passive: Radiation
- Vishnu's abilities apply up to 6 stacks of Radiation. While the stacks last (each stack lasts 1.5x(Vishnu's level) seconds), they inflict 0.5% of the target's maximum HP per Vishnu's level as magic damage per minute.
- For example (we'll take it to the extreme at level 18 with 6 stacks):
- (Vishnu's level which is 18) x (0.5% of max HP per minute per stack) x (6 stacks) = 54% of the target's max HP dealt as magic damage per minute, which translates to 0.9% per second. This seems retardedly strong at first, but even if the target takes 6 stacks of radiation, they only last 27 seconds at level 18, so (0.9% per second) x (27 seconds) = 24.3% - less than a quarter - of the target's max HP dealt as magic damage, which can be reduced by magic resist.
- TL/DR: It's basically like Brand's blaze (with stacks, and without the combo potential), but with some fancy math.
- Radiation stacks can be cleansed or removed like any other debuff.
- The indicator for radiation stacks is the standard radiation symbol, with each stack lighting up a section of the symbol.
- For simplicity, spells add stacks of Radiation up to 6, but do not refresh diminishing stacks until those stacks have run out. For example if Vishnu gets 4 stacks on Ahri and they start counting down, he can put 2 more on, but can't refresh those first 4 stacks until they've worn off.
I feel like I'm making this way more complex than it needs to be lol
Q: Meltdown
- Vishnu's nuclear core overheats and he melts down, becoming untargetable and forming a stationary radioactive puddle for (1/1.5/2/2.5/3). Enemies who walk on this puddle take initial magic damage and gain one stack of Radiation per second.
W: Dirty Bomb
- Vishnu places a small dirty bomb that explodes after a delay (similar to Zigg's satchel), dealing magic damage and applying a stack of Radiation. Dirty Bomb leaves a radioactive cloud after it detonates, which does not deal damage but applies 1 stack of Radiation to any enemy who walks through it.
E: Fusion/Fission
- Fusion is an entirely new form of Crowd Control, not just a variation on a stun, flip or silence etc. (And I'm pretty proud of it. xD)
- On the first cast (Fusion), Vishnu targets a small area. Enemy champions in that area are locked together (Fused), (and gain a stack of Radiation), for a short period or until Vishnu reactivates the spell (Fission). This knocks the fused champions away from each other, dealing magic damage and applying another stack of Radiation.
- The longer Vishnu waits to activate Fission, the less effect it has (i.e. the targets take less damage and aren't thrown as far).
- Fused targets may still move effectively if they cooperate. If one person moves one way and the other person tries to move the opposite direction, their movement speeds will cancel each other out, effectively snaring or massively slowing them. The champion with the highest move speed gets his way, but really slowly. xD
- Fusion/Fission is designed as a conquer and divide spell, instead of divide and conquer. It locks together champions so that Vishnu and his allies can focus AOE spells effectively, and then blows them apart to isolate them.
R: Peacemaker
-
Vishnu activates a dead man's switch. If he dies while it is active, his core detonates, creating a massive nuclear blast.
-
Enemies in the immediate area or red zone (a range similar to Maokai or Galio's ult) take massive magic damage and are blinded, and take 6 stacks of Radiation. In a slightly larger area (the orange zone), enemies take 2 stacks of Radiation.
-
A shock wave goes out from the blast that eventually passes over the whole map. Enemies hit by this shock wave (i.e. anybody outside the initial red zone) are slowed and take low magic damage and a single stack of Radiation.
-
TL/DR:
-
Red Zone: You're basically dead. Massive damage and 6 Radiation stacks.
-
Orange Zone: 2 Radiation stacks + 1 stack (and low magic damage) from the shock wave.
-
Anywhere Else: Low magic damage and 1 Radiation stack from the shock wave.
-
If you're really freakin' good and time it right you can avoid the shock wave by flashing or using Zhonya's (or using Maokai's twisted advance or Fizz's Playful/Trickster etc), or you could teleport from outside the wave to inside the wave.
-
The beauty of Vishnu's ultimate is that it's a superb deterrent against killing him. If you kill him, you risk wiping out yourself and your teammates, but if you don't kill him, he might not wreck your s**t. And further, Vishnu can't just ult and kill everyone nearby without dying himself.
I'm really proud of this champion concept, but as always I'm open to feedback. Comments or questions are certainly welcome!
