**Character Concept** Rion, The King of Souls

Basically what I'm going for here, is a human who got lost in the Shadow Isles. Rion is capable of both ranged, and melee style Auto Attacks.
He is more of a mid-lane assassin type, but could also be used as a support.
He would benefit from CDR, ATK.SPD., and AP Oh, and his name is pronounced as Re-on

Appearance:

Rion is a younger, slim boy with bright blue hair and a scar that runs from the corner of his mouth, straight back to his right ear. He usually wears black pants and a black shirt, layered under a long, white jacket, and his scythe on his back for up close auto attacks.

Lore:

Growing up hadn't always been easy. Losing his parents at a young age, Rion turned the the streets of Demacia. He got in with a crowd of killers and thieves before realizing that what he was doing, would never be what his parents wanted of him. To make up for his failure, he banished himself to the Shadow Isles to live a life of loneliness. While in the Shadow Isles, he learned the ways of the souls and began to train to one day make up for his failure. He gained a weapon, a Soul reaping Scythe and learned how to proficiently use it. The day finally came where he would concur his fear, the Master of the Shadow Isles, and when he challenged him, he knew he would finally win. He learned to control the Souls that he had reaped, and unlike Thresh, used them to fight with and for him instead of locking them away carelessly. He finally took down the King of Souls, and claimed the title, and eventually, left the Shadow Isles. He journeyed across the lands and came across the league, hearing that Thresh had joined as well as the man who lost his wife, Lucian, and figured he would look into himself. The league realized his powers quickly and offered him a position in the league and he happily accepted it, hoping to make up for his past.

Kit:

Passive- Shadow Walker- While Rion is being chased, all allies within a decent range are given a movement speed boost.

Q- Ghastly Barrage - Rion swings his scythe, letting out a blast of souls (50/60/65/70/75)+3/4 AP and pulls the enemy back in only if in a chase. If not in a chase, the souls temporarily latch on and slow the target.

W- Soul Shatter (toggle)- Switches between melee auto attacks with his scythe, or ranged, attacks where he sends out souls to attack for him.

E- Weave- Rion summons souls to Weave a barrier around himself, or an ally to take (60/70/80/90/110)+1/4 AP

R- Soul Reaping- Rion briefly channels before sending out a blast of Souls in a 360 degree area, knocking back enemies and stunning them if they hit into a wall for a short time while also dealing damage.

Anyways, this is what I have so far. If anyone has any ideas to improve Rion, let me know !

I'll just leave The Dawn of the Shadow Isles here...

I like the idea of someone getting lost in the Shadow Isles. His kit is pretty neat.

one question:

Is there any benefit (or cost) to switching from ranged to melee attacks? I'd suggest that melee attacks deal more damage, or ranged attacks cost mana. Otherwise people would just stay on ranged attacks the whole time (I would, anyway).

My only other suggestion is that perhaps he could collect souls from dead enemies (similar to Thresh), but instead of just stacking them, he uses them for his skills, in place of mana.

Keep up the good work! :D

Why wouldn't I just be ranged mode all the time. Why would I ever rank up w beyond the first. What specifically do you mean by "in a chase".

By, in a chase, i mean like, if he is running from the enemy. I figured it would be easily noticed.

and, i REALLY like the idea of using the souls in place of manna.

as for the toggle, i can see where youre coming, and yes, i agree, having the scythe do more damage would probably fix that confusion.
