Xe’vin, the Icathian survivor. (pronounced “seven” with the ‘z’ sound replacing the ‘s’)

Edit: I've wrote a physical description of what Xe'vin looks like.

In place of the lack of an image, I've placed a description of what the champion looks like. Any artist's rendition of said champion is appreciated and accepted.

Appearance: A small boy about 10-13 years old in physical age, chronological age yet to be confirmed by Zilean. Height is a head shorter than Ezreal's height. Physically thin but extraordinarily strong in strength. Skin color is very pale sporting markings that resemble tattoos of Icathian lettering, created from the influence of void magic and the Icathian Monolith. Hair is long and messy and hair color is silver to pure white, eye color a mix of purple and ruby red. Clothing consists of a dark purple cloak with a black hood, a black shirt and tattered black shorts with pieces of what appears to be carapaces and shells of a void creature patched in for protection, black boots that are very worn out, and gauntlets fashioned out of leather gloves and shells of voidlings. Monolith is black with 1:4:9 proportions with several places where the corners have been worn down or chipped away; width of the monolith is half a feet shorter than Xe'vin's armspan, with Icathian runic lines glowing purple on occasion. When holding the Icathian monolith, runic circles of Icathian language appear at strategic spots on the rock. Xe'vin simply places his hand on the circle, and the monolith runs its magic through Xe'vin allowing him to lift and carry the monolith with ease.

Lore: To meet Xe’vin in person would give you the impression of looking at a ghost who is there but shouldn’t belong in the first place - as is the place he came from: Icathia, the ancient fabled city that is said to be the gateway for the void- as well as the object that he carries with him: the Icathian monolith, a mysterious massive monolith that seems to never leave the boy’s side and can be lifted by Xe’vin only.

The tales of his origin is vague as the Icathian boy never speaks, preferring to communicate via telepathy or projecting his thoughts on the monolith with single words, phrases, small sentences, or images; and when pressed for details the boy always freezes up as if remembering a trauma indescribable. But what he does manage to reveal, his story goes as this:

For as long as he can remember from his childhood, Xe’vin lived in Icathia but couldn’t remember what Icathia looked like. Xe’vin however didn’t live alone; he also lived with his mother. When asked what his mother looked like, Xe’vin says he can’t remember what she looks like, or sounds like, but he remembers what she smells like and that he always feels safe when he’s with his mother. But despite this, he tells that he and his mother was always running and hiding from “scary things” in Icathia.

One day, Xe’vin and his mother were running from a large group of “scary things”, and by sheer luck he and his mother escaped, but became separated from the process. Xe’vin became distraught from being separated from his mother, and would have perished if it weren’t for a mysterious monolith that suddenly appeared to shield Xe’vin; blocking the “scary things” off and then scaring them away with a strange sound. Perplexed by the mysterious rock, Xe’vin approached the monolith where he received visions and knowledge about its purpose and power. Enlightened by the revelation and hope to find his mother, Xe’vin spent years in Icathia searching for his mother after the separation, whilst using the monolith’s power to fight the many “scary things” that roamed Icathia. Until one day, he caught a faint scent in the air that almost smelled like his mother. Seizing the opportunity, Xe’vin left Icathia, following the supposed scent trail all across Valoran… and ended up at the doorsteps of League of Legends. There, summoners from the league approached the Icathian in curiosity, and after managing to piece together his tale, offered to help him in search for his mother in exchange for volunteering to be a champion of the league.

Role: Support, tank, melee

Concept: Originally, I had the idea of creating a void champion or someone related to the void or Icathia. I wanted the champion to be like a physical tank who’s appearance is like the foil to Annie, who’s a bursty high damage mage: a boy who’s a low damage tank with a huge rock. But as I sat on this concept, the idea of having Xe’vin being a top lane tank clashes with the skills that I had in mind for him, so I thought I would make him a support. Now the thing is with many of the support champions, you have Sona who is basically an Aura support, Soraka who’s the dedicated healer, Zyra who zones the enemy champions to ensure the adc can comfortably farm. Thresh and Blitzcrank’s kit as support champions are aggressive catch and drag the kill type champions, Nami is also but more or less catch and secure. Then we have Lulu, whose kit involves heavy buffing and debuffing, Janna’s gimmick is using tornadoes and wind to knockup, slow, shield and heal, and then Taric who’s kit revolves around him being able take some aggression and then debuff the enemy champions armor, stun them, and heal his adc. But there really hasn’t been a champion whose kit centers around absolute defense and is completely dependent on something equivalent to an indestructible shield, whose job is to provide protection and shield the team from as much incoming damage to the team, and then use the shield to force the enemy into a bad positioning for his/her teammates to finish off the enemy. But such a champion with a kit like that sounds completely boring right? So I added a twist to it. The “shield” in which the champion relies is vulnerable to damage, and with enough damage, the shield will break, leaving that champion very vulnerable and useless. This is why I created Xe’vin.

Resource: Mana

Gameplay Mechanics: Xe’vin’s core mechanic and theme revolves around the relationship between him and the Icathian monolith that he carries with him. The Icathian monolith is Xe’vin’s main form of protection as well as his only method of attacking, often leaving him vulnerable to many forms of danger without it. However, this is compensated by the monolith’s colossal defense and ability to shield Xe’vin and his allies from almost any danger that makes Xe’vin powerful as well as its mysterious to weaken the enemy’s defenses. The monolith itself can be used as a shield that protects Xe’vin or his allies, a massive club to smash enemies and break their armor, thrown to pin an enemy under the monolith’s colossal weight whilst acting as a beacon that weakens enemies with its otherworldly sound, or held as a massive impenetrable phalanx shield that blocks attacks and repels enemies with its sheer bulk, which Xe’vin can throw to crush enemies under the monolith’s colossal size and weight. Another thing to note is that the monolith can be destroyed.

Skills:

Passive: “Icathian survivor” - If Xe’vin has his Icathian monolith with him, he gains X% bonus armor and magic resist for each allied champion and reduced for each enemy champion present; their champion level also affecting the bonus. If Xe’vin doesn’t have his monolith with him, the total % of bonus defense from the passive is automatically negated and leaves him unable to attack or cast any other skill asides from Summoner spells, but grants him a large movement speed and tenacity buff until the monolith automatically returns to him, or Xe’vin activates a skill a second time to call it back. If the monolith is destroyed, it automatically reforms and returns to Xe’vin x seconds after breaking.

Q: “Monolithic weight” - Xe’vin smashes an area of the ground in-front of him, dealing x damage and lowers the armor and attack damage of enemies hit by the monolith for x seconds.

W: “Icathian protection/Monolithic protection” - Xe’vin sends the monolith to protect an ally, granting them a shield that blocks x damage before breaking and granting the item with bonus armor for x seconds, if Xe’vin reaches the ally that was shielded before the monolith breaks, Xe’vin regains his monolith and the ally keeps the shield and armor buff for the remainder of the normal duration. Activating the skill a second time returns the monolith to Xe’vin, but no longer gives the ally the shield and armor buff.

Alternatively, Xe’vin can cast it on himself, and gain a bigger shield but at the cost of losing the monolith if the shield breaks.

E: “Shadow of the Monolith” - Xe’vin throws the monolith at a target location, creating a wall of impassable terrain that deals damage to enemy champions hit in the area, those that are in the sweet spot are pinned (stunned) for x seconds until Xe’vin retrieves the monolith, calls it back, or the monolith is broken. Retrieving the epitaph within a certain amount of time gives Xe’vin a defensive shield and small attack buff. Activating this skill a second time returns the monolith back to Xe’vin, but does not grant him the bonus buffs and frees enemy champions pinned by the monolith.

-E passive: the monolith is treated as an impassible terrain and creates an aura that lowers the magic resistance and deals x magic damage per second to enemy champions within x units of the monolith. However, the monolith has an hp bar, which can absorb x damage before being destroyed.

Ult: “Vanguard of Icathia” - Xe’vin casts a larger version of the monolith as a shield, holding it as a mobile impassable wall in a single direction that moves with him, blocking any enemy ranged projectiles and melee attacks (except turret projectiles, aoe skills, and some skills with dashing) and automatically knocking back any champion that collides with the wall (except Xe’vin who’s holding the wall) on either side in the direction the wall’s movement. When the wall is erected, it can block x/y/z damage before breaking, activating the skill again before the wall breaks makes Xe’vin throw the wall in the direction it’s erected, knocking back enemy champions and dealing x/y/z damage + the amount of health remaining on the wall, before creating a wall of impassible terrain that can block the remaining x/y/z damage where it landed.
