(Very Early)Champion Concept: Vedant, The Woad Renegade
Hello, Its Skyro77 here with my champion design for a ranged mid-laner. I don't have all the deeper numbers figured out yet, but I hope you enjoy this anyway. Please give some feedback if you like this champion design.
Role: Ranged Fighter
Physical Description: Short and scrawny, skin vaguely resembles wood, armed with a seemingly primal gun that looks more like a mini cannon than like a gun, wearing a torn-down old fish scale type armor with tattered long jeans.
Stat Description:
High: Mana Regen
Above Average: Mana, Armor, Magic Resist
Average: Health, Attack Damage
Subpar: Attack Range, Attack Speed, Movement Speed
Very low: Health Regen
Passive, Synthesis: Whenever Vedant hits an enemy (or enemies) with a spell, he gains 5% spellvamp per enemy hit for the next spell he casts. This can only occur once every 6 basic attacks.
I wanted to define Vedant's role as a spell-caster while keeping his basic attacks useful enough for his w to have a useful role. Vedant is a champion that is on the fringe of being an ADC vs. a mid laner, but with subpar range and attack speed he should stay as a mid lane.
Q, Seeded Shot: Shoots a seed that travels forward, dealing 40/70/110/160/220 physical dmg (+75% AP) If this ability is re-activated, the seed sprouts a vine, dealing 20/35/55/80/110 magic dmg (+30% AP) and snares the target for 1/1.5/1.5/2/2.5 seconds.
Mana: 70 at all ranks
CD: 9/8/7/6/5
This ability can be used to harass enemies or line up your other spells for some high damage. One thing to note it that this skill gains meaningful range when reactivating it near the end of the original seed's cast range, allowing you to do some cool snipes with it.
W, Shrapnel Vedant's basic attacks deal 60/70/80/90/100 magic damage (+70% AD) in 8 directions around the initial target. This damage does not deal damage to the initial target.
This skill (technically it's a passive) was intended to bring basic attacks into Vedant's style of play. It also is put into use by the passive, forcing players to use basic attacks and spells.
E, Mortar Sprout: Fires a shot into the air (similar to heimer's grenade, only higher) It then comes crashing down, dealing 80/100/110/130/150 magic damage (+50% AP) and leaving behind a slow field that slows enemies by 45% while they are in the field.
Mana: 90/100/110/1120/130
CD: 13/11/9/8/7
This skill has a very long range and can be used to snipe low health enemies. The slow field is great for dealing with clumped enemies. Snare the opponent with Seeded shot while casting Mortar Sprout to make it easier to hit the target.
R, Vine Lasher: Vedant charges for .5 seconds and then fires a vine that travels very fast, dealing 200/400/600 magic damage (+85% AP), knocking them aside and stunning them for .5/.75/1 second.
Mana: 170/230/300
CD: 120/100/80
This skill has great teamfight capabilities, between engaging, disengaging, and assassination of the low health stragglers, this skill is pretty strong. But, with good reflexes, players are able to avoid the vine and burst down Vedant.
Preliminary Lore: "Hue Hue Hue." Mordekaiser.
As a gunfighter in a clan of spearmen, Vedant was hated, scolded, beat, and almost killed numerous times. He was spared numerous times for one reason; He was the person of the prophecy. Many years ago, Vedant’s clan, the Nagas, were visited by a foreign visitor. Brandishing a clock with him and predicting that the “one alone in your clan” shall end the war many years into the future. Then this foreign visitor vanished, leaving one trace; a scar on Vedant’s forehead. He did end the war many years in the future, but not in the way anyone expected. Eventually, accumulating hatred and rage toward his clan grew so large, he chose to save an opposing nation rather than his clan. War between the Nagas and a group of Demacians arose, causing major upset in Valoran. Hired assasins from Noxus slowly trimmed down the Demacians’ soldiers and generals, leaving only a band of about 20 Demacians remaining from the group that went to war. Unfortunately, 20 of his clan were left as well. The final stand was now. As both groups lay and wait. 2 Noxian assassins were ready to strike. Blades unsheathed, they waited for the slightest moment when the Demacians were vulnerable. 3…2…1… The time was right; but they stopped. A noise was coming from another bush. Seconds later, a giant vine rushed forward from behind the Demacians, impaling all of them, and rushing toward the Naga clan. Only 5 managed to dodge the vine. Then the assailant revealed himself. The 5 survivors, hardly intact, muttered one thing before retreating. “Why Vedant, why….” Amazed with this demonstration of power, the Noxians brought Vedant in as a high-class fighter. Vedant has never forgiven himself for leaving survivors. To this day he waits, to strike again.
Please leave feedback about if you liked this champion. If you did, be wary, as another champion of mine might make its way into the forums.
