I'm planning on doing a male Quinn cosplay (Woad Scout). My only problem at the moment is that I don't knwo what materials to use for some things. Im making most of it with paper mache and fur, but im not sure how i would make the abse of the mask since it isn't straight. Any other tips on forming anything is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I just posted this towards someone having questions about a Twitch cosplay.... I think this also applies here.

"I don't know how much help I could be, but I've made a few League of Legends cosplays just out of recycled pieces or cheaply purchased items.

(Example: http://zunichan.deviantart.com/art/League-of-Legends-Battle-Bunny-Riven-2-540401339 )

It's blade is made out of recycled insulation board foam that came stuffed around a piece of furniture, don't remember what kind it was. I used clay molded on top of it as the "leafy" green part of the sword. And the handle is made of both recycled and purchased PVC pipe pieces. And of course it's coated in lots of paint.

If you wanted to talk more about it, I could probably think of things to use for some of the items. The entire thing kind of depends on how much access you have to stores and recycling type materials. I live in Alaska, so there's really no stores to just go out and buy whatever you want. I either have to order it and pay 100+ dollars in shipping, or find things at yard sales, or find things laying around. So if you live in a large city, or near one, you'll probably have an easy time as long as you're willing to pay for things. "

As for your mask, since I don't have access to many supplies, I would start by making the base out of air dry clay. And then maybe once it's dry, layer paper mache over it until you get the shape and thickness that you want.

If you don't mind it being a lil bit heavy, you can always just use air dry clay completely, and carve into it all of the etchings on her mask/crown/thing. It would also be easy to make a raised section in the middle to be the gem in the center.

I hope that helps a little!

If you want to quiz me on some things about your costume, feel free to add me! (Summoner Name: Purity)

Purity summed up almost every point I was going to make, but I also wanted to add that there's a wonderful community over at Cosplay.com that could also help with more details, materials, step-by-step tutorials, and etc! Whichever way you go, good luck and I hope it turns out awesome! :)

I'm working on the mask right now, trying to make a cardboard cutout that I can trace onto another material (probably craft foam or foamboard). I can't seem to make it parallel though and I'm not sure what to do. Any help/tips?
