New Idea for Draft. (Hope this is in the right place.)

I have no idea if this has been thought of or it has been completely discussed; but I put forth an idea to help the Team Captain in draft choose bans and picks. The idea is simple really, under the profile you would choose maybe two or three champions you have interest in. Then when going into draft and entering a lobby the picture of your preferred champion would be displayed below your name or something. That way the captain can just look at his team and decide from that, and of course the enemy team is unable to see you or your teammate's preferred. Thought on such?

I like it. I think it'd be cool if they implemented this idea in team builder, too:

  • Choose up to 3 champs to que as - they all must be the same lane and role.
  • As a team captain, when I get a match, I get to pick which of those champs the person plays as.

One of TB's biggest letdowns for me is that actually building a team comp with good synergy, is really hard as a captain, if you're queueing solo.

I like the idea and its been suggested before, but the problem is it adds a lot more stuff you have to do before queuing up is more, what would happen if you forgot to select the champion preference? It would also add A LOT of clutter to that screen. It sucks to say its unlikely because its really not a bad idea, but the idea of overloading a screen with information and the responsibility not only on yourself to set the list, but also the responsibility of the leader.

If im the banning person Im gonna ban people I dont want to play against and shouldnt need to hover around through 15 champions on my team to make sure someone isnt wanting to play them. Again the real issue is this idea makes champion select be so much more complex than it is right now, which believe it or not has negative trade offs even though all we notice are the positive.

It would also take significant reworking of the in game client to look neat and fit well. Not to mention how roughly 95% of the playerbase doesnt use forums so would blindly have to deal with the new system with little to no idea on what they are doing.

Sounds like a good idea in theory, but i think it would make champ select way too busy. Another thing is it's really not that hard to type in your ban preferences and read them. People also could use that to troll on smurfs: Say Mr. Platinum III Smurf is level 12 or around that area. He can then just select Viktor, Kha'Zix and Galio for bans, and the newbs (no offense meant...) wouldn't know Karma from Xin Zhao.
