New champion with actual lore? Ties into Demacia and Shadow Isles.

I've been thinking while at work about some cool champion lores that I'd love to see, and we have yet to really see a Shadow Isles champ who was FORCED to be part of the spirits and undead.

While I was daydreaming at work (Because my job sucks) I began thinking of an idea for a champion based upon PURELY his lore (Meaning I have no abilities thought up, or what he'd even do in game)

Be aware, this is a very very rough draft, and I don't believe Riot would ever directly use my idea, however, it'd be nice or cool for them to at least come up with something that relates to it, even remotely

In the early ages of Demacia's growth and development, it's army was known to be fierce and loyal, going into battle against uncertain odds, only to return the victor, or to be killed and completely forgotten. In these days, the Royal Council (Or king) began formulating ideas on how to better expand Demacia and to understand otherwise unexplored lands in Runeterra. They came up with the idea of the Seneschal of Demacia, an elite group of survivalists and expert warriors.

Those who showed bravery, cunning, and extreme fortitude were allowed the opportunity to petition to join the Seneschals. Grueling tests and training took place to prove that these men and women were the top of the military chain

One such man took his oath to the Seneschals at an early age. His name is Tsun Rei.

Tsun Rei showed great prowess in the Seneschals, completing almost all of his assigned missions quickly, effectively, and with few casualties to his comrades, and had gained much respect among the people and Hierarchy.

Demacia, aware of the dangers on the outside world, took a deep interest in the Shadow Isles. The Black Mist had always been a plague to all of Runeterra, not just Demacia, and needed to be investigated. The Royal Council decided to send in five of the best Seneschals to explore the Shadow Isles, find what plagues it, and end it. Tsun Rei was the second chosen (Leaving open possibility of another champion)

Tsun Rei sat in the Crow's Nest of the best ship in all the oceans, sharpening his scythe, and checking his equipment, making sure he would be ready for everything.

"What do you see up there?" the Captain asked (Possibly GP's ancestor) "Nothing good..."

The Shadow Isles loomed ahead, shrouded in the mist of horror and death. Terror seeped into the atmosphere around him, but Tsun Rei felt nothing, only the need to complete this task and rid the world of this evil. He quickly scurried down the mast and met with his men, talking of the horrors they should be prepared to see, knowing the isles were home to every evil known to the living.

The ship weighed anchor as close to the Isles as the captain would allow, and the five men jumped into the paddle boat, making their way to shore. After what felt like hours, they were on dry land.

At first sight, the place seeped terror out of every surface. One of the men shook with fear, but found his resolve and tightened his grip on his blade, reassuring himself. The men came up with a plan of how to advance without being seen, and began doing so. Tsun Rei was in the trees, along with another man, much older than himself. His name was Feng Huo, a war veteran, who had seen countless battles, as his battered and scarred body told the stories.

"Feng, you stay in the upper branches, keeping watch above to make sure no one flies in with a surprise. I'll keep the men below aware of what's going on ahead of them" "Good. Carry out"

Tsun Rei moved like a bolt of lightning among the trees, darting from one to the other, moving far ahead to scout, then coming back to inform his brothers.

The men continued on for hours without seeing a soul, until it was too dark to continue any longer, they all shrouded themselves in the trees and prepared themselves to sleep, one man keeping watch at all times.

Feng Huo was awake staring into the distance, looking for any signs of danger in the night. So far a few hours had passed and he was getting annoyed with the lack of action and boredom. He watched every nook and cranny he could see through the thick branches and leaves, until he spotted something in the distance. Two red eyes peering in at him. The eyes were not of the living, they gnawed at his soul, clawed and pulled, trying to pry his soul from his body.

Feng Huo gasped in fear and terror, and fell backwards, narrowly avoiding falling out of the tree. He had never felt such fear, never had been so afraid in his life, but the eyes, they sunk into his mind, trying their best to break his resolve. When Feng Huo looked up, the eyes were gone. He looked around, moving from tree to tree, but didn't see anyone, or anything. After a few minutes of panic, he sat back down and put his mind to ease, realizing it had to be a hallucination caused by the mist in this damned place. Feng Huo made no mention of it to his relief, as he didn't want him to believe Feng Huo was hallucinating.

The next morning, the men began traveling again, moving quickly and silently, headed towards the center of the Isles, hoping to find the source of the corruption.

After several more hours, the men came to swamp, the water a black sludge, with nothing but dead trees and gnarled plants. The men stopped, looking for a shorter distance around. After a few minutes of searching the immediate area, the men came to the conclusion that to go around would take far too long, and their boat would leave by the time they returned, leaving them to die.

The men prepared to cross the black swamp. They knew that they would be most exposed in the swamp, but there was no way to quickly traverse it. They began crossing slowly, keeping an eye in every direction.

After a half hour of crossing, the men were almost to the other side. Nothing had come to them, nothing had trapped them or attacked them.

A laugh. Cynical and deranged from the woods in front of them. The men drew their weapons and prepared themselves, knowing full well they were vulnerable in the sludge, but not being able to do anything about it.

"Who goes there?" Tsun Rei called.

"Nothing but the dead" another shuttering laugh followed.

"We must move quickly, it's dangerous to move to the shore, but even more dangerous to remain in this sludge. We can't make any quick movements in here." Tsun Rei called, not giving the men a choice to debate.

"He's right, move quickly, 360 degree vision at all times, if you see this beast, call him out" Feng Huo said quickly, doing his best to trudge through the mess.

"There's nothing here for the living. Why are you here?" the voice asked, amused.

"Stall him!" Feng Huo whispered to Tsun Rei

"We're here to investigate your Isles, and see what lives here."

"But I've told you already young one, nothing lives here. Nothing but the dead" the voice said shrilly, laughing lightly. "What are you really here for boy?"

"I've told you," Tsun Rei called "We want nothing but to see the area.

"You've come to stop us. To rid the world of our kind. To 'free' it from our terror. Isn't that right?" The voice said, with an angry undertone.

"You could say that." Tsun Rei said confidently, nearly at the shore.

"Well men, I can tell you one thing." The voice grew louder and closer.

"What is it, foul spawn?" Feng Huo asked, nervously.

A barrier of twisted souls and the dead sprung up around the men, trapping them on all sides. The souls reached out, grabbing their weapons, limbs, and anything they could get a hold of. They screamed and moaned, begging for their misery to end.

"You know nothing of terror!" The voice screamed, piercing their ear drums.

A Lich rose from the black sludge, souls circling him.

The men started to panic, trying their best to beat back the souls in the walls, trying to get past them to escape this terror prison.

Tsun Rei stared at the Lich in awe, as Feng Huo readied himself, gripping his weapon tightly. A holy blade, meant to slay evil. Feng swung at the wall of souls, giving a brief moment of space to travel through. Taking this opportunity, Tsun Rei pushed him back and darted forward, running for the shore, as the wall began closing back up

"You coward! You leave us to die?" Feng Huo cried in fear at Tsun Rei, picking himself up from the sludge.

"You all will die, and your souls will forever be mine." The lich shouted and cackled, chilling the men to the core.

The lich began closing in on the men, as Feng Huo attempted to cut the wall again, to let his men escape. The sword wasn't strong enough anymore, the blade had lost it's holy edge from the souls throwing themselves on it to end their anguish. The Lich stared into Feng Huo's eyes, red and bright as a moon. Feng felt his soul being torn from his body, the lich tugging at it with his bare hand.

The lich began sucking the souls from the other three men left, causing them to shriek in agony, clawing at the wall of souls desperately, and their bodies being consumed by the dead.

A glint of steel and the snapping of bones, the Lich's hand cleaved off, release his grip on Feng Huo's soul. Tsun Rei stood ready to face his opponent. The lich laughed.

"You cannot kill the dead!"

Tsun dove forward, slashing at the lich, pushing him back, and tattering his robes. Tsun pushed the lich back until he was on dry land.

My advantage, thought Tsun Rei.

"You have no advantage in my realm mortal" the lich spoke into his mind.

Tsun Rei flinched, not knowing how the lich could read his mind. In this moment of weakness, the lich grasped him by the throat, and lifted him.

"Your soul will be mine forever, my greatest possession." the lich said with deep desire in his voice.

Tsun Rei fought but couldn't land more than a glancing blow to the lich.

As his eyes started fading away, Tsun Rei thought of Demacia, thought of his friends and family. And thought of the calamity that the Shadow Isles would bring to them. The terror, fear, and death it would bring with it.

Tsun Rei gripped his weapon tightly and swung with the last of his strength, cleaving the lich at the midsection, severing his legs. Tsun Rei felt his soul being torn out from his body, joining with the lich. The lich mocked him, told him he was weak and arrogant.

Feng Huo watched as the lich's bones fell to the ground, no movement or sound coming from them. The souls of the dead around him parted, and disappeared. Feng Huo looked around, all of his men motionless. He check their pulse. Nothing.

Knowing there was nothing he could do, Feng Huo moved on, continuing on his mission for his dead comrades. He cleared the swamp and moved into the woods.

Tsun Rei awoke with the souls of the dead around him, begging him for release. He felt no pain, no fear. He only knew he had to escape. Tsun Rei walked for hours, the undead swirling around him, talking in maddening tones, all of them asking to be released from their undeath.

After days of walking, Tsun Rei fell, exhausted. He needed rest. But surprisingly, he wasn't hungry, nor thirsty.

I must really be dead, after all, he thought.

He sat, questioning what he should do.

"There's nothing you can do mortal. All of these souls belong to me. Even yours." the lich whispered in Tsun Rei's ear.

"Then take me. Make my soul part of your, finish me off, don't waste my time hellspawn."

"Your time will be well-spent with me. I'll make you into the one thing you truly fear. The Harbinger of your own kingdoms demise." the lich said with a light cackle.

For the next few hundred years, Tsun Rei's soul was tortured and twisted, being torn apart only to be mended and torn apart again. Tsun Rei felt no pain, he wouldn't give the lich the satisfaction. After many years, after the fall of his family's favor in the kingdom, after the founding of Noxus, after the construction of the League of Legends, Tsun Rei remained untainted, refusing to be turned into the monstrosity the lich wanted of him.

The lich gave up. He relented and allowed Tsun Rei rest. The first rest he had received in centuries. He laid down, and closed his eyes, hoping for release. Hoping the lich would allow him to leave and cease to exist. As he fell into a deep sleep, Tsun Rei remembered his hom. His family. His friends, and his comrades.

I can't just give up. I must protect my kingdom.

Tsun Rei awoken quickly, standing up tall and shouting.

"Lich! Hear me now! Make me what you will! I will become your harbinger, on one condition, I be allowed freedom from your grasp once your purpose is fulfilled!"

"A deal? Hmm. I have yet to encounter a mortal strong enough to fight me, nor to hold me off for such a long time. Perhaps a deal is in order." the demon said to him. "My purpose is to bring death to the living, so what world would be left for you if I fulfill my promise and release you?"

"I will lay waste to all your foes, taking their souls and giving them to you."

"I do suppose you are very talented" the lich said, mocking him. "Haha, I believe this could be fortuitous for the both of us, mortal. You have a deal."

"Very well, Do with me what you will."

Tsun Rei's bones began to twist, seeking out their matches to host their owner's new soul. The muscle and flesh, still rotting, reforming over the bones, blue and green blood dripping from the wounds. His body reformed, he saw his scythe on the ground, once a polished and clean tool, now rusted and dull. He picked it up and felt it, the blade sharpening, but keeping it's rusted edge.

"Lich, I will carry out your bidding. Ask what you will of me."

"Join me in my battles, and I will let you know when your time is done"

Little do you know, lich, I have no intentions of serving you forever, as you surely have devised for me to do. One day I will have my vengeance, and you will be standing at my feet, in as much pain as you caused me.

I don't mean to be rude, however this is really long and a lot of people want maybe a paragraph or 2 paragraphs at most to read on lores.
