Starting to Stream

I've been really considering starting to stream League lately as I've had a lot of spare time in college this year between my class and work schedules.

I'm just concerned about how the community would take to it, noting that a large majority of streamers that are watched are actually competitive players trying to climb through the ranks or fighting for their spots at higher elos. As where I would just be streaming my friends and I playing normals and random games for the pure fun and enjoyment of it and sadly, I don't see very many successful streamers doing that, although maybe I'm just not on Twitch.tv at the right times.

It's true that the more successful streamers are typically professional and higher elo players.

There are people who do quite well streaming with friends, or just in general doing normals. KayPea is one that comes to mind, while some would argue a fair amount of her success was being propelled forward by SivHD, and then the fact that she's pretty easy on the eyes. She has however maintained that success quite well on her own. Her streams, from what I've seen, are mostly comprised of her playing with viewers, and other randoms to use for video montages, highlight reels, and clips for youtube.

She appears to do quite well with similar things to what you want to do. Does that guarantee you success in two weeks? Not even close, but honestly, you should just stream for fun, and see what happens. That's how pretty much all the successful streamers got to where they are, unless they're current professionals, they stream for fun and went with where it took them.

As someone who has been streaming for about a month, I'd definitely say it doesn't happen in a day. But I will say it comes from commitment. Get a schedule, stick to it, and just have fun. Another tip I would give is to find people to stream with. It makes the time fly by and league is always more fun with people. The more hours you put into your stream the more likely it is going to be noticed.

Hope this helped. and if you ever want someone to stream with, let me know
