Anivas, the Unbound Soul
This is my idea for a new champion. His name is Anivas, the Unbound Soul. Anivas uses a whip that glows a bright blue-green and appears to release a sort of ghostly "steam", similarly to Kalista's spears. He is meant to be a semi-AoE medium range burst mage. His attack range is 500 units. Here is his lore:
"A body is nothing more than a vessel. It can be cut, it can be bruised, and it can even be damaged beyond repair, but no matter how damaged a body becomes, the soul that is bound to it is left unharmed... at least, that's what the elders always said in my village. I know better though, as I am detached. My body is no more to me than a puppet."
"My sister died many years ago in a fire. That pain still plagues me. It is not simply a physical pain. Emotional pains like that stick to a soul, they tug at its presence, beckoning it to tear itself apart. I will do no such thing."
The mystery of Anivas' soul being able to wander from his body has always baffled even the most prodigal of sorcerers. They want to know how he does it, but he gives them no more than a glance and a smirk, stating that "It will become clear to you one day how I escape the shackles of my body. Just don't expect to be able to share it with your colleagues."
As mysterious and brooding as he is, he wouldn't be complete without some solid abilities, so here they are:
Passive(s): Soul Tug +Anivas' attacks and and abilities apply stacks of "Soul Tug" to his targets that last for 6 seconds. If an enemy has 5 stacks, they become "Soul Torn". Being Soul Torn debuffs enemies based on the levels of Anivas' basic abilities and lasts for 2.5 seconds. Enemies cannot receive stacks of Soul Tug until 4 seconds have passed since the last time they were Soul Torn.
Q: Spirit Lunge --- 8/7.5/7/6.5/6 second cooldown +Active: Anivas' spirit leaps from his body, dealing 100/150/200/250/300 (+.7 AP) magic damage and slowing the first enemy hit by 12/18/24/30/36% for 1.5/ 1.7/ 1.9/ 2.1/ 2.3 seconds, then promptly returns to his body. Stuns instead of slowing if the enemy was Soul Torn. Applies 2 stacks of Soul Tug. +Passive: The Soul Torn debuff lasts for an additional .5/1.0/1.5/2.0/2.5 seconds
W: Spiritual Deliverance --- 6/5.5/5/4.5/4 second cooldown +Active: Anivas' next basic attack is converted into magic damage and deals an additional 30/80/130/180/230 (+.4 AP) magic damage. This attack applies 2 stacks of Soul Tug rather than the usual 1. +Passive: Soul Torn enemies take 10/20/30/40/50 (+.15) damage per second over the duration, ticking every .25 seconds.
E: Spirit Lash --- 14/13/12/11/10 second cooldown +Active: Anivas lashes out his whip, dealing 80/120/160/200/240 (+.5 AP) magic damage in a medium-sized area of effect (think Mega Gnar's W). Applies 1 stack of Soul Tug to all enemies hit.
+Passive: Soul Torn enemies deal 10/15/20/25/30% reduced damage.
R: Final Destination --- 100/75/50 second cooldown +Active: Anivas calls to the souls of enemies with Soul Tug, then forces them to release after a 2 second channel. This consumes all stacks of Soul Tug on all enemies, dealing 30/60/90 (+.2) magic damage per stack consumed. Those enemies then become Soul Torn. +Passive: Upon becoming Soul Torn, enemies are stunned for 0.5/0.75/1 seconds.
As you can see, there are not mana costs listed. This is because I felt, along with his base stats, mana cost were simply an extra balancing detail. I didn't feel I could accurately design the stats myself.
Here are Anivas' opinions of other champions:
Thresh: Anivas knows of Thresh and considers him a mortal enemy. He believes Thresh is an evil being that should be punished, as souls belong in the spirit realm, not in a lantern.
Lucian: Anivas pity's Lucian's losses and knows that the pain will travel with him to the afterlife.
Karthus: To Anivas, Karthus is a bit of a mystery. While he agrees with Karthus' views on life after death, he does not believe that death should be forced.
Alright, so this concept took some time. I hope that people will see it and leave comments on what they think and what I could do to make him better and more balanced. Also, what champs do you want Anivas' opinion on?
