The Results
Match 1
Ferguson Mitchell - FergSquad (2-4)
Now, that's what I'm talking about! Not only did we win our match (moving up to be tied at fifth place), but we're the top scorers of the week! LMQ bot lane, hats off to you, you've really turned this season around for us. Even Cop showed up. But enough about last week, let's gear up for the big game: Super Week. sOAZ, you've been doing well so far, so keep it up. In fact, you've all been doing great. No complaints, keep it up. Let's push hard and climb further up the ladder!
Josh Augustine - Yordle Ascension (2-4)
Sigh. Another week, another opponent with 250+ points. My bad luck can't last all season, can it? My team is doing really well -- I've been in the top 3 scores every week except Week 3 -- and there's nothing available for pickups that I think could really improve.
At least I'm getting better at picking the right Top laner, thanks to Wickd and the rest of Alliance turning into demigods lately. Starting Cowtard over Link was a risk this week and CW's pathetic play against FNC left me very nervous. But Cowtard and crew returned to form the next day, continuing their reign as the worst team with the best fantasy points. Super Week is going to be crazy exciting -- I hope I finally catch a break with my opponent so I can enjoy it even more.
Match 2
Thomas Watts - Code Monkeys (3-3)
The Code Monkeys are officially on a roll. The squad knocked off another top team in Neoillusion's Dragonslayer Teemo by a 253.92-192.93 score. First off, the only good Teemo is a broken Teemo after a thorough Monkey bludgeoning. Secondly, per the tradition, extra Fritos and Mountain Dew will be available for all of the loyal Monkeys out there. Unfortunately, the Code Monkeys are in a little bit of a bind. SK Gaming has been having trouble which devalues CandyPanda in fantasy. He's scored under his projection for three straight weeks. Since Woolite is in the Flex position, we can't grab another AD carry, so your Head Monkey has to keep an eye on the waiver wire in order to make the AD/Flex position more match-up dependent. It will be difficult in an eight person league, but trust in the Head Monkey. If something is available, he'll find it.
Jack Ho - Dragonslayer Teemo (4-2)
Alas, finally a week where having all my eggs in SK Gaming backfired. Hopefully this is the only week going forward. While SK defeated ROCCAT as expected, they incredibly underperformed in their match against Millenium. My two NA picks, Dyrus and Meteos continue to fall short but at this point I'm not sure if I can afford trading them away without taking a loss. It looks to me that EU Top laners and Junglers were the way to go this split. Tied for No. 2 now with Rainbow Unicorns, Super Week #2 could make or break my chances for the top spot. I opted for a more diversified approach this time, going with Genja as my Flex and LMQ as my Team.
Match 3
Andrew Whitmore - Rainbow Unicorns (4-2)
This week was a close one; I feared that I would have another loss to make up by the end of the split! Thankfully CLG came through in the end (after being down nearly 50 points on Saturday) with a huge point boost to both Aphromoo and Doublelift. Now that Super Week is here, I’m already worried about North America’s shaky performances. EU seems to be the consistent region this split with a clear order while North America is an all-out brawl with no clear winners. I’m tied again with NeoIllusions for second place, and this time I’m not going to let the lead slip away. He’s going down followed by Gustaf shortly after!
Trent Murray - This is My Smurf (2-4)
I have learned my lesson about waiting on Junglers. Dominate is just not getting it done for me, and I've moved onto Impaler to see if I can just squeeze a few more points out of that position. Bottom line, I got beat by CLG. After NA Day 1, I was positive I would win in a landslide. Unfortunately, Doublelift and Aphromoo turned things around in dramatic fashion, while Seraph stayed his frustratingly mediocre self. My big Seraph gamble was a colossal failure, and I traded away my backup. If Cloud9 doesn't turn things around this Super Week, my season may be in real trouble.
Match 4
Mattias Lehman - Gustaf's Gentlemen (5-1)
The Lord Shiphtur works in mysterious ways. Going into the last day of Week 6, my victory was all-but assured as Shiphtur and the Diglets were about to take on CLG. I decided to take a nap during the Dignitas game, trusting Shiphtur to carry me once again. And then Dignitas stumbled and fell, netting me a grand total of 6 points between Shiphtur and his team. This left me in an uncomfortable position going into the last game of the day, needing about 18 points from Quas, a Top laner who has averaged about 12.5 points/game. But my faith was rewarded, and Quas grabbed 26.5 points, securing my fifth win, and giving me sole possession of the No. 1 spot. Thus, the Comedy of Errors continues.
I’ll be making some changes, however, as my roster continues to worry me. I’m starting Amazing over KottenX for the Super Week, as Amazing outscored KottenX by 16 points last week, and TSM has the (slightly) easier schedule.
Kelsey Moser - Diana Fire (2-4)
At first it seemed as if the Fantasy LCS gods would smile upon me and grant me a win against the indomitable Gustaf. Alas, Quas managed to nearly match ackerman at the end of the line, and though both WildTurtle and Celaver had a poor start to the season, the Turtle has proven the more forgiving master. If only I could get some sort of prize for the longest run of consecutive close matchups.
I still refuse to learn, and so Celaver remains for Superweek.
