Ask The Pro is an ongoing series on lolesports.com, where we ask a pro player questions from the community. The player then picks the next pro the community will get to ask questions. Be sure to follow us on Twitter to submit your questions for the next Q&A!
In our last Ask The Pro interview, we talked with Fabian "Febiven" Diepstraten about getting used to playing on Fnatic, winning mid lane, and romantic dinners with Huni.
He also had a question for Erlend "Nukeduck" Våtevik Holm.
Febiven: Have you ever received a compliment on your haircut?
Nukeduck: Not for a very long time. Do you want to get a haircut with me on Saturday?
Kasper: What happened to Lemondogs that caused you to split up?
N: Some of us wanted to achieve more than we did with Lemondogs. So we took the offer to join Ninjas in Pyjamas with the idea we wanted to be better and achieve more, ironically enough.
Lukas: If you hadn't joined ROCCAT, would you have joined a Challenger team?
N: If I didn't get the offer from ROCCAT, I would have first checked if I could join any other LCS team. But if not, I would have been open to starting from Challenger and making it back in the LCS.
Antonio: Of all the positions, why did you decide to play mid lane professionally?
N: It was just what I started playing. And in previous seasons, mid had the most impact on the game.
Chris: From your NIP days to now, how do you think you've evolved as a player?
N: I evolved into a team player. I learned how to be a team player rather than just solo player.
Vikash: You're considered one of EU's best mid laners. Do you feel pressured by that, or does it help you improve?
N: In the start of this split I was hyped a lot, which actually put a lot of pressure on me and made me nervous in the first weeks of the LCS. But right now, it does not affect me anymore.
Ali: Would you honestly say that you've reached your peak, or what can you do to shine again?
N: I think I am still good, but I feel like I can show up a lot better. I think I still have it in me.
Nicolas: How hard was it for you to adapt back into this year's assassin-based mid-lane meta?
N: Those champions are pretty much the ones I play in solo queue anyways. So I just had to adapt to playing them in competitive.
Primal: What is the team atmosphere like on ROCCAT, compared to on NIP?
N: I think it's pretty similar. The big difference is that back then we were quite immature, and had no governing body to lead us in the right way.
Yoreon: What do you believe ROCCAT needs to become a top-tier team?
N: I think we just need to learn how to be more consistent.
Vikky: Is there still time for ROCCAT to fix their problems and make it to Worlds this year?
N: We are not giving up on our goal, and we are still fighting for playoffs. We have not given up!
Tod: Do you see mid-lane Kha'zix coming back into the competitive scene this year?
N: I expect mid-lane Kha'zix to never come back. Void Spike (W), his main spell for mid lane, was heavily nerfed and now he fits better as a jungler/top where he can max out Taste Their Fear (Q) instead.
Deivid: What can I do to reach Challenger in one year?
N: First of all, you need a lot of motivation to play nonstop. Watch good players stream, be critical of yourself, and focus on playing only a couple of champions.
Triumph: As a mid laner, how can I help my team climb out of Bronze?
N: Focus on doing good trades early game, and try to have pressure on mid lane, then roam with your jungler. In team fights, try to stay safe while doing max damage possible.
Linkinton: How do you counter Riven? Armor doesn't work :(
N: You need to know her exact cooldown timers, and remember that her shield only lasts 1.5 seconds. So you can try to time trades at the moments when her shield runs out.
Ram: Why do you hate Abyssal Scepter?
N: I think Abyssal Scepter has no place in the item build of a mage champion, who relies on cooldown reduction, such as Ahri or Leblanc. This item gives you a strong 1v1 against another mage, and gives you an early power spike on one item. But after that point, your build is weaker than the typical mage build for the rest of the game.
Edvard: Do you feel special being the only Norwegian in the LCS, or do you not really think about it?
N: I do not think about it that much. But it is really nice to know that Norway always has my back.
Lars: How do you think the Norwegian scene has developed lately? Do you think we are going to have more Norwegian players in the LCS?
N: Right now, I don't think there is a Norwegian player with the skillset for LCS. But I have been following the scene a lot and it has grown a lot during the last six months. Hopefully soon, we can produce same amount of talent as Denmark and Sweden.
LoLesports: What pro player would you want to answer questions next? Would you like to ask him anything?
N: Gambit Gaming's top laner Lucas "Cabochard" Simon-Meslet: Give me some tips and tricks for playing full-AD Jarvan IV in top lane!
Josh Augustine's favorite champion is Nunu, he's never enjoyed a Darius, and he will always go for the kill, even when he knows he shouldn't. He currently works as a game designer on EverQuest Next at Daybreak Games. He’d love to talk with you on Twitter.
Pushing Pro Limits
Hard: What is your all-time favorite champion to play? N: Zed. The learning process with him is really fun. And once you've mastered him, he feels extremely rewarding to play.
Chris: From your NIP days to now, how do you think you've evolved as a player?
N: I evolved into a team player. I learned how to be a team player rather than just solo player.
Vikash: You're considered one of EU's best mid laners. Do you feel pressured by that, or does it help you improve?

Save My Ranked Team!
Vikky: What can a competitive team do to prepare when the meta shifts and lesser-played champions suddenly become popular, like Sejuani? N: Theorycraft the patches. Look at them carefully and try to get the most out of the changes. Play a lot of solo queue, and learn from other teams too!

Nukin' the Duck
Hero: Have you ever nuked a duck? N: ...
